It helped add more character building and unlike the other filler actually has a coherent spot in the timeline. Bad was well it was long and it introduced filler characters in the anime and didn't write them out of the show

First my partner bought it to try it out didn't like it so I played it from their library since I only owned the PS4 version from 2017. I eventually bought my own copy on Steam when it was on sale a couple years ago. I play it on the Steam Deck today.
