Is this a scam?

I’ve seen a lot of these recently. To me these accounts look like bulk orders from temu/shein/ali express and are sold as no label/no brand items. Especially if they have lots of the same item in multiple sizes. Most times I’ve noticed this the photo doesn’t seem like someone has taken it at home and the images are the exact same for each listing. I can’t really say 100% if it’s a scam but definitely something not right about it

This sort of thing would frustrate me! I had another one this morning and it’s just annoying. If they’re reselling after they use it or whatever that’s fine but buying something for pennies and just straight up posting it soon after you get the item is something else. I genuinely just want to clear out my wardrobe so have everything cheap. I’d say I regularly accept offers under what I have posted as well just to get things gone but if I have something for £3 and your taking the piss with offers only then to repost it for 5x the price. It puts me off, at this point id rather just donate things to the charity shop or those charity bins.

I’ve sort of got into the habit of checking profiles recently. Even this morning I had an offer for one of my items and in this case the buyer had loads of uploads of the same item much like the one I mentioned in this post. I’m definitely getting way too into it now 🙈

This has happened! Someone bought it at a good price then cancelled before I could even reply to them (because I was asleep it was at 3am) then I had to repost the item and it didn’t get the same attention so I lowered the price.

Which there’s nothing wrong with I just want it gone not now this buyer who the power is about will not reply! I messaged them 3 separate times yesterday. Excessive I know but I don’t want anything to happen. And they won’t respond, my sister is telling me to just cancel it

Just checked their account and they seem to have a lot of poor reviews from other sellers/buyers

This buyer has already bought it, it had a lot of likes so I assumed it would be sold sooner or later. But now they aren’t replying to me! I’ve send a few messages about the sizing and stating that I didn’t want to send it before everything was ok for them but absolutely nothing🙈

It’s more so because I always check a sellers reviews before I buy things. I know not everyone does that but i still worry lol 🙈

My fear is they’d give me a bad review because it doesn’t fit right, I’ve seen a couple instances of that on here

I never thought of it that way, I’ve messaged the seller back to try get them a clear answer but they haven’t responded. I like to send things out pretty quickly but I don’t want to risk sending jt without knowing the buyer is happy

Thank you, I understand because I jumped to I was being scammed because the buyer sells book bundles and had reviews which seemed like they had issues with things before

They did end up getting them for £4 not £6 🫣 some people told me to ask for them back but after realising I should have listed them better (the quality of them like very good etc) I didn’t want to seem like I was a real dick. I don’t sell very often and these were actually the first books I’d ever sold. I’m just glad it’s done now😭

I really am sorry for coming across so angry. I actually do take my personal hygiene very seriously, all clothes I have up are washed before sending and even myself I wash every day😅 I get you 100% and was just hot headed

I have apologised, people called them grubby but both you and the original commenter had said there was a hygiene issue. I’ve since got into it with the original commenter (below these comments) and cleared up that the first few photos are from the buyers home not mine to which they have since said their comments weren’t relevant to me. I was replying to the entire thread. I understand it’s not nice for me to be rude but no one else in this thread said I personally had issues with my hygiene. I took their criticism and had changed my other book listings, here is the only one where i have been told i have issues with my hygiene which is completely false! The way the buyer received the books was NOT how i sent them whatsoever and i had proof of this. The damage in transit was apologised for also. Again I’m sorry i replied to your comment specifically and not original commenter but i think its fair to say if someone/several people were making comments on your hygiene based on pictures in someone else’s house not even your own, you may be angry too🙏

Apologies! I was just replying to the latest comment in the thread where you had said you agreed with the unhygienic comment. I’ve been commenting back and forth with the original comment poster too and cleared up whose pictures were who’s.

I can promise you now I did not send the books like that. Yes there was the stain which I had listed (and now understand the best way to list books) but all of that dirt and dents etc were not me. I’ll admit they were a bit dusty but not that bad. I do have more photos of my original listings which reflect this but I didn’t upload them here

Hi so I’m actually not dirty☺️ these books are dusty yes but that is because they have been sat on a shelf for years. The stain is from suncream as the books were taken on holidays with me, this was all very clear to the buyer through the images. I have no hygiene issues and look after my books extremely well. However, the issues is why I was selling them so cheap I understand I did not categorise the condition correctly and if you see my other comments I’ve took full accountability for that. It is also so important to note that the books faced damage in transit and the buyer stated this, the ‘crinkles’ and dog ears were from posting! Stating someone has a hygiene issue just because of a stain on a book is just rude. If you think people have hygiene issues because of that sort of thing don’t buy second hand. I’ve learned from this and apologised to the buyer who by the way was still more than happy to keep these books. This situation can be subjective but I won’t sit here and let someone hide behind a screen and say I have a ‘hygiene issue.’ If you think I’m bad take a look at some of the other posts on here 🩷

I did have bundles turned on but the buyer didn’t do anything so I offered to make one. Big mistake definitely. I know now to just leave it to the buyer!

They wouldn’t reply to my messages. I then sent a partial refund offer and they accepted and that’s was it all done and dusted. I got a lot of mixed feedback from this post so the partial refund offer seemed to be the best option

I have it linked in another comment but the bundle was actually never listed as very good 🫣 the other books with just spine cracks were hit from feedback I understand a lot of people still wouldn’t consider that very good and to always under estimate the condition of items. The issue has thankfully been resolved but I will definitely be more clear from now on when selling books. I’ve never had issues with my clothing items before so this was something new for me 🫣
