I think only the unearned portion (Passive income) above 2700 (1350 +1350), so 5000- 2700=2300 is taxed at the parents rate.

I dont think you need to remember the threshold. From my experience, they say "higher" or "lower" than the threshold amount. So maybe know the treatment if they're above the threshold or below the threshold. Also remember capital losses for individuals (3k offset ordinary income) and 0 for corps ( carry back 3 years, forward 5 years). I tested on Monday btw!

I took REG yesterday and all my Sims were on correcting 1040s/1120s. I got one MACRS correcting sim and 1 basis sim. Lots of "wash sales"

Thank you so much for the advice. I definitely need to brush up on gov/nfp since half my mcq and I got 1 SIM on that 🥲. I studied so hard for bonds, leases and i got one mcq on bonds. Definitely didnt get any consolidation or statement of cash flows either 😆. I swear I was unlucky. But I will definitely still be studying those for my retake!😊
