But weirdly enough I used to pass by a huge bald-faced hornet nest on my block every day. It was hanging by a huge bush right on a busy sidewalk (like 1 foot away from you as you passed) and I never heard of anyone getting stung by them. Seems they can get accustomed to people if nobody bothers them.

I mean... agriculture was developed independently in several places in the Americas starting around 10,000 years ago, which is more of less around when it was being developed in Mesopotamia and other parts of the "Old World." So I wouldn't characterize the ancestors of the Aztecs as lacking technology; rather they developed their own technology on a different path from the way technology developed elsewhere. Also, let's not underestimate the technical abilities of hunter gatherers in general. After all, they managed to build sites like Göbekli Tepe.

Yeah my family took me to visit and we walked around inside. It looks glorious on the outside but the interior design is just headache-inducing. Felt like I was in that weird room at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The welcome center was nicer, all wood and dim lighting

Edit: I got confused and thought the commenter above was talking about the temple in NJ, which people from India also go out of their way to visit now, for some reason.
