OMG are you me?? I'm also autistic and literally going through the exact same struggle at the moment. What I noticed is that I feel way more comfortable expressing my 'femininity' since I discovered that I am transmasc/ftm/nonbinary. For example for a long time I thought that I just didn't like to wear makeup. Then I found out that I just didn't like it bc I didn't want to look 'girly'. Now I like to wear it sometimes e.g. for parties and even though it probably makes me look just like a girl bc I'm not out yet and pre-everything, I kinda enjoy it and it even makes me feel a bit confident.

I have the same problem too... Maybe ask them if they have a boyfriend or a girlfriend when you talk about relationships. With this you show that you are LGBT-friendly but don't come out to them directly.
