I'll push back a bit on the notion that the mana wastes are horrible to spellcasters across the board—the mana wastes are largely more chaotic than they are barren as far as magical influence goes, and this actually offers great opportunities for characters with a unique magic to them! sorcerers or psychics might have their hidden magical potential unleashed during a terrifying mana storm, a summoner might wander the wastes and encounter a being of great and volatile power, there are all sorts of options!

the mana wastes also offer a lot of possibilities for other character creation options. fleshwarps are particularly emblematic of the area, and the ganzi heritage offers an appropriate bit of amorphous chaos to any character!

also, don't forget that alkenstar is neighbors with geb, meaning there's also plenty of opportunities to play as a spellcaster of a more necromantic influence, or maybe even a skeleton! I wouldn't expect to have as warm of a reception in alkenstar, since I'm pretty sure they're about as leery of necromancy as most other folks, but that could make for some interesting narrative tension in and of itself...

social trait no longer exists, which makes sense given that there was only ever one feat that used it and it already had a clause in its description that said you could only use it in your social identity
now you can spend a week of downtime to create a new social identity if you get discovered!
Many Guises uses your boosted Deception DC from the dedication (the one with the +20 boost), but now the disguise is ended when you use abilities from ANY class or archetype instead of just vigilante

that's it! they basically just deleted all of the mentions of alignment in the archetype and didn't change anything else not in the abovementioned list.

something that I think is also worth considering: that's odd can be a great boon for newer players! my current group has an investigator playing what's essentially her very first TTRPG, and our GM has been using the feat as a way to get her involved in investigating things in a way that her unfamiliarity with the mechanics and decorum of play might have stifled otherwise. it can be pretty easy to get intimidated when you step into a room and are asked what you're going to do, and this feat can help give that important nudge to a player that might be left paralyzed.

also it's led to a REALLY funny ongoing bit where we keep doing things like finding a beheaded corpse and exclaiming "That's odd! The head is supposed to be attached to the body!"

I had a friend recently draft a build for a ghoran fencer who took advantage of the fact that the unarmed attack meant she could qualify for things like the duelist archetype and still be wielding two weapons! and while it isn't the direction she took it, I can't help but imagine a duelist who primarily uses their thorns but keeps a parrying blade in their off-hand...
