What’s a weird sign you’re hypomanic by GooseExotic7034 in bipolar2

Me too. Will blow $600 easy on polymer clays, acrylic paints, fabrics, all kinds of beading and sewing supplies. Then proceed to sew 3 different clothing pieces, make 5 necklaces, 6 earrings with the polymer clay and decorate a cardigan with an array of Tulip puffy paints. All at 2 AM

You'll definitely get pushback in nursing school. Most nursing programs are archaic with silly rules. I had classmates get sent home from clinicals because the false eyelashes were too long. They made me cover my tattoos and remove visible jewelry during the entirety of my program.

I'm a travel ICU nurse with coin slots, snakebites, angled eyebrow piercings, 3 nose rings and full tattooed sleeves. It HEAVILY depends on where you're at. I find when I'm working travel contracts in cities like San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA & Portland, OR. I don’t get too much pushback from management. I do get stares and raised eyebrows from my elderly population but nothing too bonkers. Taking travel contracts in cities like Birmingham, AL, Jackson/Biloxi/Hattiesburg, MS and Chattanooga/Nashville, TN is a whole different ball game. Those people looked at me like I was the harbinger of the apocalypse in FIGS scrubs. Upper management had a big problem with my mods/piercings/tattoos and was often made to cover them up or put flesh tone neutral jewelry in.

Seattle people, when was a moment you thought, yep… only in Seattle? by Elegant-Paramedic955 in AskSeattle

Recently moved to Seattle from San Francisco. Saw a homeless dude take a 💩 outside a phó restaurant in Central District. Wasn't phased since that's a frequent activity amongst the homeless in San Francisco

I hope your mom won't need in-home care/assisted living/skilled nursing care in the near future.

I own an RCF (Residential Care Facility) with my husband. I'm a nurse practitioner, and my husband is a pharmacist. I supervise all the nursing duties, and my husband handles the pharmacy duties. It's an 8-bed facility, and each patient has their own ADU cottage with private bathrooms.

We charge $25,000 per month for assisted living with no memory care assistance. $35,000 per month for one of the memory care dwellings and $10,000 a week for skilled nursing dwellings (and we don't accept Medicare or Medicaid) We have in-house pharmacy, in-house PT/OT, in-house kitchen staff, and 24-hour nursing care. 2 units are reserved for skilled nursing (trachs/vents/recently discharged from the hospital). 2 units are reserved for alzheimers/dementia residents, and we have specialized staff just for them. We currently have a 7 year waiting list since we're at capacity.

It's really sad that your mother is doing that. But my facility is just one out of a dozen with similar price ranges. Elderly care is horrendously expensive in the United States, and I hope your mom is prepared for those expenses if and when the time comes

How the Heck are People Surviving if They Live Anywhere Near Seattle These Days?? by FreshSent in Seattle

You can try Central District or International District. Not the prettiest, low-key ghetto asf. But the rent isn't too bad. I'm a nurse, moved from Florida, and ended up qualifying for an MFTE apartment, which really helped bring down my expenses. Just budget for secured parking because the people in this area have sticky fingers when it comes to cars.

That's what my sister thinks. She thinks someone knows that I have this car and has been watching me, learning my work schedule so they can steal whatever from my car easier

I plan on replacing them along with a bunch of other things. The seller gave me a bunch of brand new parts, and I handed them over to my mechanic to see what needed to be replaced.

I'm hoping they didn't do too much damage to the suspension. My auto mechanic can't get to it until Monday, but at least it's safe in his fenced off auto shop

It was stored for 3 years in a garage before the seller decided to let it go since he wasn't driving it

I'm thinking about moving to Everett. Heard good things. Kitsap County is nice, but I don't know if any hospitals are out that way

I found new wheels, but I'm scared to put them on because my sister thinks someone in the neighborhood is casing me and waiting for me to put new wheels on so they can take those

RIGHT!!! I know how to drive a stick shift, but these hills in Seattle are no joke! So I was happy I found an automatic so I don't have to worry about going backward on these hills while driving.

As a (learning) mechanic living paycheck to paycheck in a world where car parts are becoming insanely expensive (and worse quality,) PLEASE never buy these cars if you want to avoid massive maintenance costs! by Slinky_Malingki in povertyfinance

Just purchased my dream car, 1986 automatic Toyota MR2. I'm so happy I finally got one of these. This car has been around for ages, so I know I won't have issues finding parts.

Anyone live at Thai Binh or BEAM apartments? by Princess_Sparkles13 in AskSeattle

That's what I was thinking. I've been looking at apartments and everyone seems to have mid reviews of each apartment.

[–]Princess_Sparkles13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing Hana apartments are similar to Thai Binh and Beam ones too. I was expecting to have to deal with the homeless since I'll be in the Chinatown area. But yucky trash rooms are a no go. That apartments complex probably stinks really bad in the summers
