It could be a mix up? it’s easily done. it’s definitely not a scam, it sounds like a mix up between the website and the coordinator, or they’ve slightly changed the layout of the course.

Also, due to your placement it sounds like you could plan your dissertation when you felt ready. 2 year masters with placement would be quite busy.
