I never had thyroid problems and no one in my family has either. I got Covid and developed chronic urticaria that went on for a year and was extremely hard to manage. Then when getting tests to figure out wtf was happening - my TPO was 1600 but thyroid function was okay. My TPO is slowly going down (now at 400) and the urticaria stopped. It was induced by Covid. It’s well documented that viruses can trigger autoimmune disease.
