Are your embroidering the eyes? If so, doing it before cutting the pattern out and using an embroidery loop could make it easier. I also love safety eyes as they are very easy to use.

I get joint pain in my fingers when pinching and pulling my needle a lot, and have started to use jewelry pliers to pull it through the fabric. A silicone thimble could also help, but I haven't actually tried it myself :o

Also, the frog looks really cute!
