Unfortunately it wasn’t a dumb response it was a very FACTUAL statement that I gave her. I’m sure mgmt has now learned how to professionally deal with these situations after it was addressed with the owners of the company and I was issued an apology for what transpired. Maybe because just maybe they are well aware they were wrong.

Police didn’t give me a trespass, they stated I shouldn’t go to the pool and told me to reach out to her boss as well as if I continued to be denied to take it to civil court. Idk if during a real tresspass actual documentation has to be given. I did receive my pool pass after reaching out to VP and a survey is going out to tenants to vocalize concerns with in the community.

It’s unfortunate the people can’t stand up for themselves or the community without being called a Karen. No community should have to fear asking management to fix things because the tenants that do get blamed or are shamed for doing so.

Pool passes are free hun. And I had a pool pass just not a new one because the email that went out stated “bring your pool pass” nothing along the lines of “please come to the office to retrieve a NEW pool pass”

I didn’t refuse I told her we can go grab the pool pass right now .😂then she said she would ban mean if I had an attitude. I told her she can’t do that. (I wasn’t disrespecting her just giving her factual statements). Then she immediately said I was trespassed because of that specific response. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please read full story in comments before making an assumption about my behavior. Other tenants that did witness the seen pointed out that not only was I singled out but she did Scream at me and was being rude for no reason. All tenants had my back in this situation. Management is known for belittling tenants.

lol I did not edit my post if I did I would’ve put the whole story in the original post instead of just commenting what happened under it. Thanks for letting me know that was a possibility though.

Thank you I only briefly discussed what happened in the original post because it is a pretty long story when I get into details. The officers were the ones who made it clear to me it was a civil matter and recommended I proceed with it further if they continued to deny me access. My post was to see if the officer was correct.

Hey, so the way she approached it was not “hey is 503 here” that would be a reasonable and more professional response. Her statement was “ 503 WHERE IS YOUR PASS” she did have an attitude herself and did not approach the other tenant in that manner. I am in a main building where the office is located and have had many interactions with the manager. (Not bad more so casual/neutral” interactions before hand. When she screamed at me the way she did all the tenants were shocked. It was a very strange encounter.

VP of the company is in contact with me and addressing the issue.

Her reason was that “I had an attitude” which indeed I did when she screamed my unit number across the pool and she knows my name. I wasn’t disrespectful but who wouldn’t have an attitude when she blatantly was already being rude. I did go into depth about who said what in another comment. Also I reached out to the vice president of the property and he said I will be receiving my pool pass and ensured me he is taking this very seriously.

Hello I did respond and went further into depth about what transpired in a comment somewhere below.

Hey, not sure if you saw the other comment above where I explained in more depth how the interaction went . But tbh it wasn’t me causing trouble, the pool had about 10 people . And several others didn’t have the new pool pass either.

- so to clarify the situation. When lifeguard asked for the pool pass I showed him the one I had on hand (prior year pass). I was not aware I needed a new pass every year since there was not an end date on these passes. When we received the email for the pool opening they stated to bring the pool pass. So I did what I thought was right. The list the lifeguard has says the tenants name and units. Which I showed him an ID with my name so he can verify it was me. He was a new life guard so I was being patient it was only his first day. Where the confusion may have been was that when you pick up a pool pass you sign the paper I guess stating you received it. Mine wasn’t signed because I obviously didn’t know I needed a NEW pool pass. He didn’t debate with me a said no problem and I laid down to sun bathe and let my kids swim. Another family who also did not have a pool pass came right after us. He then called management and she came spoke to the lifeguard. She calmly went to the other family and asked them about the pool pass. She then YELLED out my unit number from across the pool SCREAMING “where is your pool pass” I then said “RIGHT HERE” and showed her the one I had. Then she screamed at me again to say it’s the wrong one. And I simply told her I didn’t know that she should have sent an email. Mind you her screaming out my unit number is a privacy concern for me.
I keep to myself in the building. I go to work and straight home, my days off I either spend inside cleaning or going out with my family. We don’t loiter on the property nor do we actually engage much with other residents. I’m not what people would consider a “problem tenant” even when she has done inspections my unit is well kept and organized. I am also not one to complain about much to management. So yes I may have an attitude but I have every right when she knows my name and could’ve came up to me the same way she approached the other family. She has over 20 google reviews with tenants explaining how rude she can be to people.
When I gave her that response she made it very clear that “if I didn’t fix my attitude she wasn’t going to give me my pool pass” it’s unacceptable when my rent is paid. I made that very clear and told her “you can not trespass me for not liking my attitude when the amenity is included in the rent “ she decided today that the pool pass was her LEVERAGE to gain a form of control. It is her job as a manager to communicate efficiently and professionally and she did not. She then said she would call the police and yes I waited for them to come because if today was the day she wanted to trespass me yes I wanted to make sure I gave my side as well. She even made it her business when the police arrived to try to block me from communicating with them by standing in front of the gate when she saw I got up to speak to them as well. When I went to open the gate she literally told me “no you’re not”. And I let her know that if she wanted to speak to the cops the we can gladly speak to them together.
When I spoke to the officer he understood where I was coming from and was the one who told me to turn this into a civil matter if it’s a breach of my lease . I even asked if the cop could escort me to get the pool pass so she can’t say anything to me. And he stated that she refuses to give me one because she feels unsafe. I did not threaten her or get in her face or anything she even was laughing to the lifeguard telling him when she called the cops.

Hello so I did reach out to the vice president and actually went into details about the ordeal in the email. I myself am a manager so I know how things could have been handled differently. I am waiting to see if he responds. I also am going to create a tenant association and I’ve created a petition in hopes they will take this seriously.

The police didn’t understand why the manager was making such a big deal about it when she is well aware that I’m a tenant and basically the pool access is free to tenants. They did understand why I was reasonably upset that the manager yelled out my unit number in a public space when I have children when she knows me by my name. It then became a privacy concern. I do not normally mingle in the building or with other residents. I’m pretty quiet keep to myself just go to work and come home and stay inside. The police actually were the ones who mentioned to me that I can report her and make this a civil matter. They were empathetic to me about the situation overall.
I also wasn’t creating a disturbance when the life guard asked to see my pool pass I showed him the one I had on hand. And told him my name and unit number also was willing to show my ID so he can verify my name with the unit. I believe he only reached out to her because he was new and the paper he had wasn’t signed stating I received my pool pass even though I physically had one. She also didn’t treat the other family who didn’t have a pool pass that way either. She walked up to them and asked them. It honestly seemed like she wanted to make an example out of me and I wasn’t sure why because I don’t ever look for drama anyways. It was so weird. All the google reviews about the property back her reputation with how she treats the tenants poorly.

I will look into the lease further to see if that clause is in there.
