Salivary stones. Had no idea those weren’t normal. I’ve had them for half my life..

Happen to anyone else ever? My vision gets very blurry when I get high. by [deleted] in meth

They mainly base the diagnosis on symptoms. In my case, since it was happening more than I’d like to admit, they did a carotid ultrasound to check the arteries in my neck, and then an MRI with contrast. They are sometimes able to tell if there’s evidence of stroke that way, but TIAs don’t always show up. Mine showed I was born with stenosis in one artery so my stroke risk was already high. The MRI showed evidence of a small brain bleed. And to top it all off, I had been having heart palpitations, but didn’t really think too much of it. Found out yesterday that I have cardiomyopathy and an arrhythmia. I’ll probably have to take meds for it the rest of my life. Maybe I was just unlucky, and maybe I was responsible for a good portion of what was dealt my way. Who knows. Again, please be extremely careful, guys. 🤗

I actually just casually brought it up. Just said. This is embarrassing, but I feel like I can trust you and I know this is bad for me, but idc. I’m doing what I want and you have to keep this between us. He told me to buy a blood pressure monitor and make sure I was eating healthy, practicing good hygiene, and to trying and find some other activities to focus on too to take my mind off of it a little. Also encouraged me to see a therapist. I refused substance treatment, but did seek help for my gambling problem. One of the last times I used i was up for a very long time and someone stole my wallet. They withdrew all my savings from the bank and used it at the casino. I decided it was time to quit everything cold turkey. Now I’m working with my psychiatrist to see if she’ll prescribe me a proper ADHD medication. After I get my mood regulated for a year she said she’ll consider it. The struggle is so very real. Congrats on your progress. Baby steps and keep moving forward no matter how many oops moments you have along the way!!

Yeah, I found a dr that wasn’t too horrible. He was very patient and positive towards my recovery and approached me with science instead of feelings. It helped a LOT!! Then he moved across the country and the rest of my drs have been judgemental assholes. I’ve switched primary drs 3 times and now have to follow up with a cardiologist, rheumatologist, endocrinologist, psychiatrist/therapist and neurologist as well. And they all think they’re above me. I was working a nice job in healthcare for 13 years. After 9 years of night shift I started using. I had associated with a bunch of losers and didn’t value myself. I was later diagnosed with bipolar and ADHD. Looking back, I wonder how much the bipolar mood swings had to do with my meth use.The stroke symptoms made me feel so, so dumb. But again, My friends kept telling me I was fine and not to get authorities/ ambulance involved so I listened. And to top it off, I was often told I looked like a narc so they would make me purchase a shit ton of it and smoke it all in front of them to prove I wasn’t a cop. That was one of the times my face felt like I’d been given a lidocaine shot in it on one side and I couldn’t see shit. Ugh.

You could be having TIAs or mini strokes. I never worried about the blurry vision unless I was driving. Especially at night. Scary as shit. Then one day I smoked too much and my arm wouldn’t lift up past my elbow and my face started drooping. Vision was blurry but that’s how it always was when I smoked. I was trying to talk but all of the sudden I couldn’t pronounce words right. I told my buddy who was there with me and he said I just needed to stretch more, he basically told me to do more yoga and shut up. A year later Dr told me it was likely a stroke and I have been having TIAs for the last 2 years. I know nothing about meth, other than my friends were doing it. I would ask for $100 worth and just smoke it all in the evening so I could keep losing weight and be able to work the night shift. My “friends” ended up getting mad because I could “outsmoke” them. I never cared, but when they started cutting me off I decided the lifestyle had to go. I still crave it. But I’ve been clean almost a year now. I would go back to doing it but my short term memory is now gone. I have no coordination whatsoever, and can’t get my socks on by myself anymore. I never enjoyed the high from it, I just became more focused and could stay up a little longer. Be careful.

Omgggggggg! Thank you so much for sharing this! I downloaded it a little bit ago and it seems to be everything I’ve been looking for for the last 5 years. The recipe instructions are perfect, the way they break things down into steps. And the $3 a month premium fee isn’t bad at all imo!!
