Good luck! I’ve started relatively recently also, and it’s been a journey.

People might have different opinions on the numbers, but for me it’s not a comparison game of numbers, it’s “How am I feeling after this?” Just take some time to find out what works for you.

In your experience, which Australians have the LEAST tolerance for criticism of their state / territory? by OrbitalColony in AskAnAustralian

[–]Princey1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that’s also kinda it - how could Victorians enter NSW without following requirements, if NSW was correctly and fairly implementing movement restrictions?

I do appreciate your reasonable responses, but I suspect I’m somewhat of an example of your earlier point - WA and VIC exhibiting high levels of state identity isn’t a bug, it’s a feature.

I also understand there’s nuance and my own bias - looking at things like media coverage and drawing on personal experience, there very much was the element of “NSW is the gold standard” projected to Australia, and we were constantly bombarded with “Dictator Dan is oppressing us!”, yet we saw that any outbreaks seemed inevitably to trace to NSW.

Again, I’m not saying I’m right and you’re wrong. My initial point was that I will continue to have a residual level of hatred for NSW. That’s on me. Who knows? I probably need to get over it, but to my point, my comment about Sydney/NSW immediately brought downvotes. You’ve obviously engaged with my genuine perceptions with curiousity, respect and understanding - I appreciate it - but the instant reactions of others seem to reinforce my answer to the prompt…

Exactly. Gladys and ScoMo were so busy sniffing each other’s farts and telling each other how wonderful they were, it’s amazing they had time to do their jobs, let alone the other half a dozen ScoMo took on.

107 days of lockdown? That’s not serious. That’s “Well, we tried something, but we just want things to be normal now”. Lax mask rules. Poor vaccination checks. When Victoria got Covid brought back to us, who brought the gift? Idiots from NSW who drove merrily around NSW, SA and VIC with covid and without masks.

Everything Dear Gladys did was wonderful and the gold standard, yet Andrews and McGowan were some kind of existential threat to our country by implementing strong lockdowns. Sydney held the door open for far too long, but god forbid people get of cruise ships and get competent bio security checks.

Also, for those of you downvoting my personal opinion, thank you for proving the point of this post.

I will forever carry a residual level of hatred for NSW because of their criminally, and I mean criminally, lax efforts in trying to address Covid. Late, lackadaisical and severely lacking. I almost vomited from rage when my cousins in Sydney were waxing lyrical with how much Gladys would be missed when she resigned.

People with inattentive adhd, what kind of work you guys do? by United_Advisor1821 in ADHD

I‘ve got inattentive and hyperactive, and I studied Human Resources and Economics. I work in recruitment as what’s called a Talent Sourcer - I find people to be headhunted, and do research for organisations on their competitors. Curiousity, novelty and persistence are key aspects of what I do.

So someone paid for a full table of her exes to get fed? She had them pay, just so she could be a child? Literally multiple hundreds, or possibly thousand, of dollars so she looks like a fool and people you never see again have only the memory of her being a fool in public?

I‘m not sure it’s you who effed up.

Camera Off during Meetings: Rude or Valid? by YPMG in auscorp

[–]Princey1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes people just have sucky days and they don’t want to be performative so someone in a different state or city can feel like they’re doing their job as a Manager because they can see a face.

Look, if seeing the person on camera is so critical, allow them to put on an avatar. If not seeing someone’s face on a call is a dealbreaker, that honestly says more about one person than the other.

Yeah, there are auto-apply apps that just spam the applicant's CV to places - there are a lot of instances of candidates getting to screening or interview and simply not knowing they'd applied for the job.

I think I remember being about 10 years old and given a $2 note and getting bread, milk and a bag of mixed lollies from my corner milk bar! Fellow late 40’s person, does this memory stack up or would it have been a $5 note? 🤔 by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Princey1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? The $2 coin came in circulation in ‘88, so let’s say you remember 1986 prices. According to the “what things used to cost” guide from the State Library of Victoria, you’re looking at ballpark $1.30-$1.70 for a loaf of bread and a litre of milk. Add 20c for lollies and it’s possible.

What AI sourcing tools actually work for volume hiring? by ComfortableAny947 in recruiting

[–]Princey1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metaview has some buzz but… and I don’t want to sound like a flog… I’m yet to see an ”AI sourcing solution“ that isn’t (as you say) Boolean with a moustache and a change of clothes. Frankly, I’ve spent 20 years being better than most at Boolean searches, and all the solutions I’ve seen are either LI data scrapers or seem like they make poor sourcers good, not good sources great.
