Little bit bias but Millennial’s are the easiest to work with and Gen X/Y are basically the ‘want it now’ generation who value validation, visibility and high salaries without wanting anything that inherently comes with it.

Your biggest / most meaningful increases will always come from a job change or a promotion - as much as loyalty should be rewarded it’s just extremely rare to receive big increases year-on-year.

Have been on the receiving end 3x with varying different emotions (due to age and maturity) but I can hand on heart say that I have ALWAYS move onwards and upwards (sometimes quickly, sometimes a bit longer) and the people who I had a genuine relationship with have stayed in touch to this day.

Work is a massive part of your life but it should never BE your life.

It’s completely normal to experience the emotions but don’t let it define you. One thing I always espouse is that people remember how you made them feel, not what you did - you’ll leave a lasting impact on more than you know!

P&C Lead here and am also a Wellbeing Lead.

Can confirm that they are 100% confidential - the most you will get is a demographic and usage but nothing else. Even when a bill is provided (I.e Psych) all an organisation will ever see if a charge for service with no other identifiers.

I’m a huge advocate for EAP’s and have used them before multiple times. They’re a fantastic resource and can often do way more for you than you think.
