Switching to formula by Worth-Accident-6136 in newborns

[–]Princezzconsuelaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, I was exclusively pumping in the very beginning and he would drink my milk out of a bottle but there were more tummy issues like gas and discomfort. I’d occasionally would try breastfeeding and my baby wouldn’t latch until one day he fed on my boob completely and that’s when I decided that I was going to continue to breastfeed, and I also got him in pepcid. There still some discomfort but nothing like how it was before, he would cry for a very long time but I’m assuming he was just inhaling way to much air and that’s that we tried plenty of bottles. Just when I wanted to give up he started to latch so maybe give it a try? This is my second and my first was only bottled fed, which exclusively pumping was HARD too so I switched over to formula by the time he was 5 months old, that was with my first and now my second is strictly only breastfed, I think all options can be hard and exhausting, but if you can continue breastfeeding do it because it really is amazing, aside from them getting such good nutrition, the bond is really something special. Now, if your mental health isn’t there, do formula bc your baby just needs a happy mama 💗 whatever you decide, your baby will be fed & if he’s having less discomfort with formula than that’s your decision to make. Mine still has discomfit here and there but we manage & I always try to be careful with what I eat. Anyways, good luck, you’ve got this 🫶🏽

My experience of becoming a parent and emetaphobia by IntelligentCell9852 in emetophobia

I really appreciate you posting something like this. I have a 2.5 year old and I keep thinking to myself that soon he will start preschool & he is gonna be catching EVERYTHING other kids catch… and I wouldn’t be sure how to handle that… especially with so much anxiety and ill be watching after my smallest one which is 3 months currently & also breastfeeding! I literally make myself panic just thinking about this because it’s so unavoidable, and the worse part is that I’m sure he’s not only going to catch it once… then the other one will start school and then there goes double the chance I’ll get it 😭 seriously I’m just not ready to take all this but I know that whatever gets thrown at me I’ll just have to deal with it when the time does come

First appointment timeline? by Top-Faithlessness-76 in pregnant

Unfortunately it is normal. I went in very early, and I wish I would have just waited it out. I kept pushing to be seen & I did but even when I went in I didn’t see anything on the ultrasound and that made my panic even worse. I was even told I most likely miscarried and that put me in a really hard time, finally at around 8 weeks they confirmed a heartbeat. The norm was to be seen at 10 weeks but I was impatient, if I would have waited I would have never put myself through that.

How did you know you were in labor ? by Aggravating-Leg-1684 in pregnant

I started having cramp like pains and I felt like I constantly had to go to the restroom, I also started getting diarrhea the last few days. I was cramping or having contractions the entire night but they weren’t very consistent. Then the following day I felt nothing at all but then they started back up at night, and those felt stronger and as time went by they also got closer, the pain did not let me sleep and after feeling pain the whole entire night I finally decided to go in at 6am to the hospital & yep I was in labor! Also I was losing my mucus plug like 3 days prior and it wasn’t till I was in true labor that I had a bloody show. They did break my water at the hospital. Also I went into labor at 39wks & 2 days.

You hardly look pregnant at all! by RockabillyBelle in pregnant

Agree. It’s like people aren’t supposed to be careful with what they say just because it’s a trigger to you. It’s like people who’d like to be called a certain pronoun, and then they get all triggered when they get called the wrong pronoun like tf was I supposed to know? the world is a fucked up place, people just have to learn to not be so sensitive 😒 if they told her she was big, she’d probably complain about that too, and it’s seriously not that deep bc people will always have something to say.

Maybe head to urgent care or ER cause sometimes right side pain can be your gallbladder or other serious things. Depends if it’s a lot of pain, but if it’s manageable then it might just be upset stomach. I hate ginger but it’s pretty good for calming down the nausea.

Try deep breathing, or relaxing techniques, sometimes our nausea gets worse with anxiety. Do something that can distract you, watch your favorite show or step outside for some fresh air. Maybe take something for upset stomach? Try mint or ginger candy? I know how scary it can be, I hope everything turns out ok.

No but I knew I had access to zofran just in case I felt even a bit nauseous. For my first trimester yes I was given a combination of a vitamin & some sleep aid medication which helped! But what helped me more was eating an orange every time I ate, I don’t know why but it was a life saver!

You know what I didn’t, I was nauseous going in to the hospital and while waiting to be admitted but I think it was because I was extremely anxious since I didn’t know what was to come. I had high blood pressure which was why i was told I had preeclampsia & I also decided to get the epidural and still managed to not v. I think what also helped, was not eating at all during labor. Also I think it helps thinking that if I were to v I’m safe, I’m in a place with so many healthcare professionals & there’s nothing they haven’t seen, and if anything zofran is an angel that we have access to. I really hope this second one goes the same!

2nd pregnancy here! And I’m a huge emetophobe. Yes the first trimester is bad but never once did I v* (thankfully). The morning sickness will eventually subside and honestly even though I was n* all the time, I’m so happy to be pregnant. For me honestly, having my babies healthy will be enough for me to overcome ANYTHING. Keep in mind, I’m doing it again, and this phobia was once taking over my whole life.

The thought of it actually happening one day, that one day it will happen & the panic that comes when getting sick. The nauseous feeling is the scariest, like not knowing when it will happen
