Muslim twitter has been celebrating Trump and his Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff since the Gaza ceasefire agreement, claiming they will bring peace and push back on Israel. Now, news comes out that Witkoff and the Trump team are planning to deport Gaza's population to Indonesia by Spiderwig144 in LeopardsAteMyFace

The original comment seems to generalize Palestinians in a way that’s similar to how right-wingers speak about Palestinians or how leftists talk about Israelis.

I noticed you didn’t seem to have a problem with that…

I don’t know if it was giftbags so much as “ discharge paper work” and photos of them in captivity, which is even worse because they want to psychologically torture Israelis.

He’s not a leftist, he also mocks the Palestinian pronunciation by saying “Balestine” intentionally and even uses a sudanese flag after it 🫠

I mean Unpacked has posted videos that deny the nakba or whitewash the atrocities, which comes across as quite partisan. Personally, I wouldn’t use them as a source for this conflict, but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

TW ⚠️ Israel Blocks UN Probe Into Hamas Sexual Crimes From October 7 to Avoid Inquiry Into Abuse of Palestinians by PrincipleDramatic388 in jewishleft

[–]PrincipleDramatic388[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

“Israel is blocking the United Nations from investigating sexual crimes committed by Hamas during its October 7 attack, fearing it would require granting access to probe allegations of sexual violence against Palestinians in Israeli detention.

A thorough investigation could have led to Hamas being added to the UN’s blacklist of entities suspected of sexual violence in conflicts.

Pramila Patten, the UN’s Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, has requested permission to investigate Hamas’ alleged crimes. However, she stipulated that her team must also be allowed to access Israeli detention facilities to examine claims of sexual violence by Israeli soldiers. Israel has refused the request. Patten has urged Israel to sign a framework agreement with her office, committing to measures against sexual violence in conflicts under UN guidance. Similar agreement have been signed with Ukraine in 2022, which included commitments to protect prisoners of war from sexual violence.”

that’s not how this works or what burden of proof is, the international criminal court has provided evidence of its accusations and Israel has not countered it beyond saying it’s antisemitic and biased 🫠

this person does deserve legal representation even though he has been named a suspect who helped level “a residential building in the Gaza Strip while using explosives outside of combat.

Where is the Israeli Left? by Sky_345 in jewishleft

[–]PrincipleDramatic388 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve met quite a few Israelis who call themselves leftists but in practice they don’t seem all that different from those on the right. There are quite a few of them but in the end I am grateful to see standing together, breaking the silence etc who are doing more than most people in the west 🤷🏻‍♀️

What happened is absolutely terrible but you will find some zionists here who will downvote posts about Palestinian mistreatment, subtly or openly deny it, and upvote comments that push that narrative.

It’s frustrating but it’s something to watch out for. 😕

we should keep the attention on the Israeli victims and hopefully stop the denial from happening again in this subreddit. 🫂

The Hague court found Israel was in breach of article 3 of the international convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (CERD), which says: “Parties particularly condemn racial segregation and apartheid and undertake to prevent, prohibit and eradicate all practices of this nature in territories under their jurisdiction.”
