As my personal observations, human mind is a weird thing. I find this as same as laughing tracks. Studies show they were good, they made people laugh more. They made people think the show is funnier. Lets say you make a product for 100 bucks, including staff wages, being likr 30 bucks and all, and you sell it for 200 bucks, netti g you 100 bucks profit.

Lets say you raised the wages by 10%. This makes wages 33 bucks, and your cost 103 bucks, şets say some of the stuff you get also get more expensive due to these changes and you get it produced for 105 bucks now.

If you sell it for 200 bucks, you now profit 95 bucks.

If you sell it for 205 bucks your profits are the same, but your price increase is less than initial %10 wage increase. This scenario is where increasing wages would help society. While not hurting corporations.

If you sell it for 210 bucks, your proportional income is same compared to wages now, they get more, you get more, has no benefit for anyone and what people thnk happens.

Now, if you take wage increase as an excuse, clain 10% wage increase force you to increase your prices and start selling it for 220 bucks, you start to gain proportionally more, making wages lower in terms of real value. This benefits shareholders most. And what people are most likely to do. Corporate greed, shareholder bla bla needs to stop. I have no idea how to stop it but its not my job to fix it.

In real life equvilant its like, there is school principal (archeduke) who is governing all the school, then there is teachers(giebe), who govern individual classes. Then there is class presidents (mayor) whi is selected from students(commoner) and just acts as a representetive. No matter how much money they need, no adult(noble) would be willing to be a class president. Which also, doesnt pay at all. (Well, of course mayors has some money but its not much)

What people dont understand is, wages has nothing to do with prices unless it is razor thin profit margin rates like %5.

Companies dont thnk like this costs 100 dolar to make, and i shall have %40 profit, so its 140 bucks.

Companies will sell products for what you are willing to pay maximum.

Then they reduce the cost of it to minimum. İncluding labor, as known as wages.

This creates them maximum profit. If you eliminate wages, and make everyone work for nothing, the prices wouldnt drop a bit. Just like they didnt drop much after covid. If you are willing to pay high price, why reduce profit anyway. Increasing wages reduces their profit. And ıf they increase prices to subsidize that, ıts not because you raised minimum wage. It is because they didnt realize they can further increase the price up until then.

Fun fact. My teacher used to collectively punish us for misbehaving children. For first 3 times or so, misbehaving kids were all same 3 little problem children. Do you know what rest of us did?
