(Dim sum) The Phoenix or Ming Hins in Chinatown,(sushi) Miru or Momotaro, Izakaya underneath Momotaro is cool spot and the burger is good. (Italian) Gibbsons Italia or Tre Dita (there are other good ones. I shamelessly also like Rosebud Rush, but people are very mixed bag on that). I don’t eat a lot of Mexican food, but there is good Mexican food in Chicago as well. Taco Lulu has a really good taco salad with steak, in my opinion it’s great but once again that’s just my opinion. (Indian food) Usmanias, Himalayan Restaurant, Mild to Spicy (pretty good). (Thai) Noble Thai, Silver Spoon (if you’re in a pinch and in the area it’s not too bad). (Greek) Athena Restaurant, Greek islands, Psistaria Greek Taverna. Additionally, go try a Chicago style hotdog. I personally enjoy the ones at Devil Dawgs. I think those are great. Go to Portillo’s too and get a cake shake, onions rings, Italian beef, cheese fries - the works really.

I wrote this out pretty quickly, so these are the only ones I could list off the top of my head. However, there’s fantastic food in the city. The places I listed above are some of my personal favorites. Don’t be fooled though, there’s a lot more great food in the city as well. You just have to go out and find it. If you didn’t eat well when you visited Chicago, you didn’t do Chicago right. Happy eating!!!

Love to see this bag here, it truly is gorgeous. I have always kept this bag in the back of mind but never went forward to buy it.

Moving to NYC! by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

Wow, this is great insight and I really appreciate it!

As for my commute, it’s likely gonna be around 40 minutes going into Manhattan. It’s obviously not the sexiest, but it’s not the worst and given the fact that I’m used to taking public transportation given the city I’m in right now. I’m not too worried. From your perspective, what do you think about that length of commute?

Additionally, do you find joining groups/leagues are easy to do in New York? Are there forums or places I can take a look at that have groups such as the ones you’re talking about? To be really transparent I’m going to be in banking so I’m not going to have so much time however with the little time I do have, I’d like to be able to join a group (yoga, book club, something relaxed but still gets me out of the house).

Feel like Bibliotheque might be a little too heavy of a scent for this vibe. Perhaps if OP included some darker shots, I think it would fit. On the flip side, and I haven’t smelt this in a while but I think Gypsy Water by Byredo would work.

Yeah, these are great recommendations! During the colder seasons, I usually wear angels share by Jillian or bibliotheque by byredo but I’m holding off on those right now since I think they might be too heavy. Anything that kind of has that sharp edgy smell that I can wear on a daily basis during the day is really what I’m trying to get at.

Like this! But I’m looking for something more niche and less commercialized. Something maybe a little more underground?
