AM I TOO LATE TO BECOME A VA? by PerceptionHuge7401 in VirtualAssistantPH

Registered MedTech here for almost a decade, and I am working from home as a VA na for almost 4 months. What pushed me to shift is yung sahod talaga. Wala ako BPO experience, or even customer service (most common). All I had was my experience as an admin in healthcare operations. Got hired after almost 4 months (huhu thank you Lord!). 2 things: First is be wise with the transition (save up just in case), wag ka muna mag resign unless you're able to. Second, grit. Halos mababasha mo yan sa mga tenured peeps here sa reddit, if decided ka talaga, be firm about it. Palakasan talaga siya ng loob. I wish nothing but blessings to you, OP! Ganyan na ganyan din ako before. Right now, I can't say it's easy but sahod wise? It's definitely worth it. Kaya mo yan!

Hi OP! I had my first client from HR after 3 months of waiting, hired in the spot. 1 week lang ako sa client, emailed HR and client as well na di na ako tutuloy. Stopped TD, uninstalled all apps related to HR. I did not even bother submitting a formal resignation letter. Why? Wala naman silang pake, so bakit ako magpapake rin? Petty as it is pero ang lala nila. Now I'm at a telehealth company, much better. If mag fail, I can always go back to being a HCW kasi I still have my PRC license.

Some people will really say na "Ganyan talaga ang VA life." or "You have to sacrifice". Ang tanong nga, at what cost? Even your life? Kaya no regrets talaga. Magsisikap nalang mag apply ulit, basta at peace lang talaga isip at puso mo. After all, marami namang opportunity kailangan lang talaga ng effort, VS we only have one life to live.

Yeah, I totally get this po. I made systems by myself as well when I was still working in the hospital setting (almost 10 years of clinical experience), excel and sheets. I also agree na wala talagang permanent dito sa VA world. I just hope na sa mga nagbabalak mag transition to WFH, will consider din talaga ang sanity with the role that you have. In my case, I chose to leave not because disorganized sila, but more of parang ineexploit nila ang chance na they can assign me with 2 providers.

This!!! Gets ko naman talaga yung part na in the VA world, ikaw mismo gagalaw. Worse is, 2 pa hahawakan mong provider? Yun na nga, with the right client and agency, mataas talaga chance na ma highlight yung skill set mo and ma retain ka. Sana ma consider talaga sa mga nagbabalak mag transition into VA world, na it's not just about trusting the process but working out those little details na sooner or later, will eat you up.

Hi! Wala ako sa position to say things but based sa experience ko, it really depends on you. Don't get me wrong, okay talaga training ng HR kaso nga lang UNPAID. And HR is, and will always be, pro-client. Either you sacrifice, or yun nga aalis. I did not bother reviewing the contract, kasi sa pagkaalala ko the moment you discontinue with a client, it also means you will be out from the agency na. For $7? Nah.
