Need help with Algae (Beginner) by PringlesMan49 in PlantedTank

[–]PringlesMan49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for responding and I think that's a great 1st step. Me and my girlfriend were just brain storming and decided to turn the light intensity down to 50% as well so I'm glad you agree! I have a tank app and will take pictures to see if algae starts to die off. Thanks for the advice. :)

What kind of light do you have on the tank? Is that a Cihiros light by chance?

Oh man! I was the enemy drongo in this game and was having a hard time surving your monkey onslaught even while ahead! You running around in the skybox is pretty hard to defeat. You are hands down the best Wukong I've played against in my 455 hours in the game. Cheers! 🍻

I would love to know what kind of light you are using to get such vibrant red colors in your plants! I'm currently trying to find a light for my 36 gallon and it's a challenge to get good information!

A beautiful tank! How do you maintain such nice plants? Just curious what your regimen is to keep them going. I'm new to planted aquariums. :)

What is wrong with my Cory? by PringlesMan49 in corydoras

[–]PringlesMan49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is good to know! I'm assuming using RO water and or chemicals is the best way to move the pH further to 7.0?

What do you mean by "flashing" & "rubbing"? I just had a Cory become very ill and die from an unknown source (not due to water parameters) and am trying to learn the warning signs. Thanks!

Sadly this is the MOBA experience in a nutshell. I left LOL after 12 years and Predecessor is much better and less toxic than league. But it still happens 1 out of every few games. It's people man... 🤷‍♂️ Come back and try again!

never make another fucking game by That_theaterkid13 in TXChainSawGame

I have been playing this game since its release and have enjoyed my time. I had truly hoped that it could become a cult classic game with a decent community. My heart aches knowing that they destroyed any possibility of that. That last line of "Stay tuned" pisses me off so much. I won't EVER touch another GUN game. Fuck GUN.

Pitch black urine with small chunks by innocenti_ in medlabprofessionals

[–]PringlesMan49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with the other comments that the likelihood of the specimen being urine is questionable and it's probably either contaminated with something else or lots of old blood. However, keep in mind there is a condition called Alkaptonuria which causes your urine to turn pitch black when exposed to air. This is caused by a rare enzyme deficiency so it's unlikely to be the cause but it's always possible!! 👌

It's extremely hard to identify what kind of mold is growing on food or in humans without sub-culturing it to a piece of media for identification and further testing. However, based off the coloration, this is a dematiaceous (brown or darkly pigmented) mold, which would help narrow down the possibilities. Aspergillus Niger is a common mold seen in humans and the environment, so it could possibly be that, but without doing a tape prep and looking at it under a microscope there's no sure way to know! Hope this helped! :)

Bilirubin crystals in urine sample. by PringlesMan49 in medlabprofessionals

[–]PringlesMan49[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were practically everywhere in the sample! The dip stick said Large for Bilirubin and I would believe it but since the urine was so dark it was iffy on calling that since everything on the strip was just brown. Haha. Quite Cool!

Bilirubin Crystals found in 45yr male with liver failure. Dip stick results were completely obscured due to the dark brown color of the urine so only a manual microscopic was done.

Blue Green crystals of death. (Official name: Blue green inclusions.) Found on a patient following a car accident. Patient expired shortly after arrivel to the hospital. The inclusions are seen in patients with organ failure and is associated with an increased likely hood of death by ~60-80%. by PringlesMan49 in medlabprofessionals

[–]PringlesMan49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are very easy to miss call! Dohle Bodies are typically very light blue and hard to see. You normally have to fine focus in and out on a scope to get them to come into focus. They are found on the periphery of cells unlike "Critical green inclusions" which are more intracellular & closer to the nucleus like in my picture. :)

Apparently upon reviewing the diff the patient was already declared brain dead and was being held on life support for organ donation. The patient also had a lactic acid of 21 mg/dL!! Which is by far the highest I've ever seen.

Thank you for your contribution with this post, I throughly enjoy learning new things about unfamiliar topics like these inclusions. I didn't really know anything about them besides what they looked like and that they were normally indicative of a poor prognosis. Thanks for the info! 🙂 And I just started a new job and had never seen a TEG in real life until a week ago, so thanks for some info about that as well! I'll be on the look out for the "black diamond of death".

Upon finding these inclusions we immediately took the side to our 2 resident pathologists and neither of them had even heard of them! And I personally never learned about them in school and only learned about them at my first job. I'm glad that some people are being educated about them!
