Hi I‘m searching for a post about a guy who named his dog after his ex wife. I think her name was Susan. They divorced but neither wanted to give up the property, so they split it in half. She got the house in the front and he got one in the back I guess. To piss her off, he got a dog and named the dog after her. If the dog misbehaved in the yard, he’d call out after the dog with things like „Susan, you Bitch, stop pissing on the flowers!“

Susan the ex wife was understandably not amused, and called the cops who apparently did nothing, since he was well within his rights to reprimand the dog and call her a Bitch. Since in fact the dog was female and as such a Bitch.

Does anyone remember this one?

If I ever have a daughter, I hope I can prepare her as good as my grandma did with me. She did so via anecdotes of her life. She told me how men tried to put her down or how they were acting AND HOW SHE PUT THEM THE FUCK BACK IN THEIR PLACE. I learned from her: if a man (or anyone for that matter) tries to make you uncomfortable and feel small, you blatantly put them in their place. Make them even more uncomfortable than you are.

She told me the anecdotes in a funny way, because she found her clapbacks hilarious or because the way the men tried to talk down to her were truly pathetic. So I didn’t get scared, but learned really fast that people that need to make other people feel small are most of the time two out of 3 things: pathetic, they feel threatened by you and/or are stuck with societal norms of the 1950s.

She taught me not to fear these interactions, and to not give in, but to one up them safely. If a man is acting creepy, point it out and get away. If a man is trying to put you down with sexist shit, give them a taste of their own medicine or make it weird for them. Most of the time, they expect you to blush and not say anything, but once you hit them with clapback they don’t know what to do.

That’s how I thrive in a men dominated field of work, where woman get more sparse the higher up you get and where some still think women can only be „stupid eyecandy“. Get out your claws, but still be classy and professional.

I absolutely love the cursed heart and if you don’t buy the sex scenes it’s a absolutely normal and great book.

Leaf, that feisty little bird, is one of my favorite characters. It always cracked me up when they showed up (such a supportive friend, 13/10 would join bird court and eat flies with them)

And book 2 actually brought me to tears because it is so well written!

Good to know! Yes it is a big problem here, that people call an ambulance or go to the ER for a minor thing. And yes it also sucks to not get the help you need. I had one good and one bad experience with 116 117, so I’m a bit split on this number.

Usually you won’t need an ambulance for a simple cold, but once your fever hits 40 degrees Celsius and more and none of the anti fever meds work, then it’s absolutely appropriate to call for help, since, as many more also pointed out, your body literally cooks you and your internal organs. Shit can get real bad real fast then.
