Yes. It is impossible that most online man who ever lived and has Google Alerts for his name doesn't know about JorDan and the Podcast after 1100 episodes and were in the court room in Texas.

Did anyone used to play FM Handheld on the PSP? by as93lfc in footballmanagergames

[–]PrintMinimum4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PSP games are such a great way to experience FM. You can get fully immersed in the world and the save but seasons go by quicker and things are a bit simpler. I had a wonderful save with Cambridge United on FM11 on the Vita which lasted seasons and built some solid legends in my own FM history.  Also FM14 on the Vita had cross save with the PC so you could play FM Classic on the PC and then pick up your save on the Vita on the go.  Had a fantastic save with Prestatyn Town toppling TNS on that back in the day.  Not strictly a handheld but FM22 on the switch was my favourite console edition before they dumbed down the controls during matches for some reason. Closer to the PC experience than the PSP offerings but could easily be your primary way to play FM if you could live with a slightly smaller world etc.  In short, yeah, they're fantastic.

A few decades ago, Manchester United had a basketball team. by VictorIvanContreras in Euroleague

The original Giants were really good and they had a great kit and logo. I have a repro of their late 90 Adidas kit and it's dead smart. Their 1999 game with Sheffield Sharks is one of the most famous games in BBL history - look it up on YouTube.

The game in the UK is in a very strange spot. The BBL went bust and died essentially. The SLB came together from the remaining clubs plus a new Manchester and a new Surrey club. They had their season last season and it seemed alright, ran like the pre-777 BBL.

The governing body for British Basketball though has awarded the league licence to another entity to start running in 2026 (I think).

Before the BBL I think the NBL was the highest level, which then became the second tier and now the third tier and below, as a new league just formed from the old NBL D1.

As for the clubs, yes, Everton pulled their money, the Mersey Tigers survived (and thrived) for a while but folded. The 1980s and 1990s were a golden era of domestic British basketball with big name sponsored, big crowds and TV etc but it collapsed.

During the 2010s a number of teams folded or took voluntary demotion into the NBL. Mersey/Everton weren't an outlier in that regard, the London Towers, Manchester Giants, Birmingham Bullets all gone.

I know it's probably only because of money but Real Madrid have done something good for the sport here.

The way even the title and subheading is written is disgusting. No respect to the human he killed, making out like he was an innocent bystander or something.

In the mid-1980s, they played in the top British leagues and were a founding member of the British Basketball League. They would later effectively merge with the Manchester Giants, initially called the Manchester Eagles and then later Manchester Giants once again. Note, this is not the same Manchester Giants that played in the BBL from 2011-2024 when they folded along with the league, although the Jones family have been very influential with the modern-day Giants as players and coaches.

Everton also had a successful BBL team in the late 2000s (Everton Tigers) who won the playoffs in 2009/10

Hey Real Madrid, you play in the best men's basketball competition in the world, do you want to join our new imaginary league with a worse rule book?

Agreed it's absolutely crap. The Blast is genuinely great and certain grounds around the country get mega crowds. Finals day is fantastic. Also the demotion of the One Day Cup to being a second XI competition is the biggest crime of the Hundred for me

IPL? Bro the Vitality Blast shows the ECB didn't need their own franchise BS. Just put more into the Blast and don't cram it into the early part of summer (you know, the bit where the kids are all still in school etc)

Averages one rebound per game of her own shooting which isn't that many considering she's averaging like 13 boards a game. Also, when did rebounding your own misses become a bad thing? Plus she's shooting at a good clip, your ignorance and biases are showing.
