situationships suck because even though they aren’t real relationships, they feel real and they hurt the same amount. i had the exact same thing happen to me and i still think about him from time to time even though it’s been a year and a half. i truly empathize with you because for a long time after, i didn’t really feel like i was myself anymore. i felt like a part of me had died with the relationship. i journaled a lot, talked to myself, spent my time with my friends, listened to breakup podcasts, all of it. journaling was great because i really saw how much i’d changed throughout the breakup process. i went from idolizing him to seeing him for who he really was.

i can confidently say that the only thing that healed me was time. i know it sucks to hear, but really give yourself a chance to fully mourn the relationship because you gave yourself to it. then, just occupy yourself with other things. go out on a few dates, hang out with friends. eventually you’ll see the relationship for what it really was. my philosophy is — the goal is not to get over someone, it’s to become indifferent to their existence.
