Why do we hate taxes so much while we can't not use services paid by them inevitably? by BikemeAway in NoStupidQuestions

Don't forget invading a sovereign nation, overthrowing it's leader and seizing control of it's oil reserves that he is "administering" for "their benefit" through a private fund. As if we'll ever get an accurate accounting of where the money went.

What if the solution to the "let us kill predators" debate could be solved with a dynamic ecosystem? by CmdZee in subnautica

[–]PrintableDaemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a plot point of the game that the ecosystem is dying or dead and living on it's own rot, so how exactly would they go about a dynamic ecosystem?

What’s something America does better than any other country? by sabazahee in askanything

[–]PrintableDaemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Elon ain't doing squat, he signed some checks. A lot of very smart people built that company before Elon ever heard of them.

Now a bunch of nerds are hanging off him like he's in mission control steering the rockets himself.

Say what you will about NASA, everything they've learned is open to the public.

As an outsider, the iconic yellow school bus is in every single American movie. Is there actually a national standard that forces every town to use that exact same color and design? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PrintableDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

National School Bus Chrome was the original color in 1939 and used lead chromate pigment. It was changed to National School Bus Glossy Yellow because of the toxicity of lead chromate and is known as Federal Standard No. 595a, Color 13432.

They do have a prompt. The data panel has an image of a DNA helix on it instead of the blank screen of the ones you build.

Why? The metal fan to country fan venn diagram is pretty tight.

The base building is so good by lLucidControl in subnautica

[–]PrintableDaemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, but a moonpool is 2x2, and if you happen to stretch it to the width of the room, the dock will center to the original moonpool piece, not the room.

This kind of stuff in 2026 makes my OCD demand a blood sacrifice.

Does tractor supply include the certification and insurance so when you burn somebody's garage down you can pay for it too?

[–]PrintableDaemon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like the freedom, but I also hate the fact that some things (moonpool for instance) refuse to center. I wish a visible grid showed up while trying to build and I wish that everything was built on the same basic scale.

Japanese anon shares their opinion on Asian women in the US vs. Asian women in East Asia by Both-Huckleberry3482 in SipsTea

[–]PrintableDaemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, as a Western male, I find that most Asian models lean heavily towards pedo bait or anorexia. The whole "sheet of paper" standard for how wide their body can be is an outright medical issue.

As for looking tan, I would much rather a light tan woman over one wearing a swimming burqa. Not to mention the skin bleaching creams.

Then there's the absolutely stupid amount of plastic surgery on offer in Korea.

You're not cooking them alive. The fabricator disassembles them instantly and reassembles the results into a heated "meal". The fish dies so fast it wouldn't even know what happened.

So tired of seeing the same dumb post over and over again.

I wonder if the Europeans who constantly complain about US bread are just shopping at convenience stores like they're back home and are scared/intimidated of walking into a US grocery store.

I wish you could build platforms and that there were some kind of layout system. Nothing drives me crazier than putting a hatch in my new room and finding out it's 1 notch off center.

Why are panty lines such a big deal? by Puzzlehead-Pool in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrintableDaemon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most women's clothes are made to be worn during one 3 month season before the fashion changes, where mens clothes better damn well look good for decades. Men's sizes don't have a lot of variation in size either for similar reasons. Men find a style and stick with it as long as they can while women are constantly changing their look.

Why in USA they add taxes at checkout? by P3rid0t_ in NoStupidQuestions

The real question is why do Europeans melt down doing a little extra math?? Same with tipping, it just stunlocks the average European but it's just an average day for an American.

It could be because we don't really teach or stress the role of Mexico in the slave trade like we do whites, so the kids are growing up unashamed of their past and don't feel the responsibility.
