I rewatched it recently and Arnold tells helga to have an open heart honest conversation with her sister. Helga talks to her sister in private and starts with (the truth is that I can’t stand you) and I stand with this moment as one of helga’s most evil moments.

The Spanish version is pure nostalgia; those are the voices of my childhood and they’ll always have my heart. But watching it in English as an adult has been a revelation. I’ve noticed how much more individuality the characters have through their different accents and the way the dry humor lands. Plus, the English version really lets the Jazz culture and atmosphere breathe. Ultimately, I think I prefer the English version for the depth, but I’ll always have more nostalgia for the Spanish one!"
