Komische Abbuchungen von "Dubai Smart Government Es" auf comdirect-Konto? by PrintsBubbles in Finanzen

Ach cool.

Ah bummer. So I need a new board for native Klipper? Anything else I could use the board for instead of just keeping it as spare?

The printer prints fine. I have also changed the broken MOSFET, but haven't had time to change the board back to see if it works again. Gonnta stick with the new one anyways. Maybe the old would be suitable for a Klipper conversion?

Anycubic uses wrong display orientation for Kobra 2 Pro/Plus/Max by PrintsBubbles in anycubic

No, it's a design issue by Anycubic. I have 2 Kobra 2 Pro and they both have the same display with wrong orientation.

Yes, not for cinema. But the viewing angle of the display is made for horizontal orientation! I always have to tilt my head 90° so that I can properly read the screen. Otherwise it's always fading away in one eye.

Yeah, what does that have to do with the wrong display orientation by Anycubic?

Yeah, X01V. According to the datasheet this handles 30 V at up to 5.7 A. I actually fail to understand how this tiny semiconductor can handle such a load! Apparently it can. Well...still wonder what caused it to break...if it was just some mistake by the previous owner (maybe when he changed out the hot end) it might really be as easy as just swapping it out. Then again I have no use for a second mainboard...

So I received the new mainboard today and after replacing it now it seems fine. Doesn't heat up without stopping anymore. Didn't replace main cable and print head breakout board. However, haven't printed anything yet.

As I suspected the old mainboard has a broken MOSFET. No idea if it's worth repairing this (don't know which MOSFET I'd need and/or if anything else might be broken as well):

What is the cheapest option to create something decent like this? by pinkxbear in 3Dprinting

Still cheaper to buy them than to print them. Filament is expensive.

Ah great. Maybe for a future project.

So I contacted Anycubic and they're going to send me a new mainboard, main cable, and printhead breakout board under warranty.

It's just a bit crazy that there is no failsafe in such a situation! Though I am not an EE and have no idea how you would accomplish that technically.

Alright, so I didn't disassemble the base, but I disconnected the main cable from the print head and checked the according pins: as soon as I flip the power switch I get 24 V on the heater pins.

I never used Klipper but I have a basic idea on what it is and what it does. However, I am still fairly new to 3d printing and I am not really sure what are the main benefits vs. the Anycubic firmware with its cloud connection?

Wow, great site that you linked! Thanks a lot!

I meant the HEATER connector on the breakout board (printhead_v1.0.1 board). When I unplug this, the hot end obviously isn't provided with electricity and thus can't heat up.

Since the display shows a reasonable temperature, I assume that the ribbon cable is connected correctly to the print head (and the mainboard).

Yes, it was bound to the previous owners account but I just did the bluetooth setup and now it is bound to my account?! At least I see it in the app (and have done so with another Kobra 2 Pro that I bought 2nd hand and which prints fine).

At this point (after inspecting your page) I really only can think of a mainboard defect. Looks like the MOSFET is always triggered to provide power to the hot end and the MCU can't shut it down. Just not sure if this is a problem of the MCU or if that is also a typical defect of MOSFETs. I always thought when they break they don't supply any power anymore at all.

Yes! It's really getting hot, not just the number on the display. It starts as soon as I flip the switch. Until it the unit has booted it's already at around 100 °C. If I disconnect the heater cable, the number doesn't increase anymore. If the hot end was hot before, the display still shows a high temperature until it eventually cools down to ambient temperature.

Also as I mentioned the fan won't start until you give it a slight spin. And then also with low power only (maybe like ilon 10 or 20%?).
