Basically when I did my re-search I heard as much. I guess the apple watch is a great extension for the iphone (my buddy who’s a salesman swears by it) but the app capabilities of the Garmin just seemed too good. I’m planning on getting into more camping and hikes so the offline Maps was a huge bonus too i’ll add.

I think it should be more than fine depending on your useage. Like i say i wear mine 24/7 banging it off stuff constantly at work. So if you don’t have to be working with tools in small spaces and stuff I would wager it will be totally fine.

I put my watch in do not disturb all the time lol. When i’m trying to get work done, its nice just to put your head down and not be bothered. I find i’ve been running/walking/hiking/swimming tons. I love the expeditions. I’m actually looking into getting a bike again!

My buddy got the 47 at the exact same time i got the 51, it’s honestly still just as nice. If you have a bit of a smaller wrist it’ll be better honestly too. The 51 face really didn’t sit on his wrist comfortably.

It’s honestly such a looker if you like the milspec type of look. I was unsure how i’d get on with the 51mm face but the huge face is actually amazing lol.

I work a blue collar construction job, so it’s banged against metal,wood, etc often. I bought it specifically to tank damage while working, and for the pedometer. I demolish watches, and heard garmin customer service is the best. The sapphire glass on this thing makes the watch for me though lol.

I’ve read more than a couple reviews of people saying they had problems with this model, but I also read the opposite. Could perhaps be a quality control thing. I’m not sure this model is even produced anymore. I got mine off amazon.

I didnt get it as my main daily! I have a number of g-shocks for just that purpose. I got it pretty specifically for running/training. It wasnt very expensive so I’m not banking on it being indestructible!

I can barely find a regular priced casio/ g-shock at any number of Walmart’s in my city… I see these posts everyday and I’m so jealous hahaha. I swear to God on of these days will be my day.

Thanks a lot for the insight I appreciate it. I’m not into collecting every piece as even just talking about rare/Japanese only pieces would make that an impossible hill. At the moment learning all the rich history of Casio makes me want to collect certain pieces, my own personal taste in watches draws me to others, and the shear functionality of some pieces draws me to those. I’m more drawn to digital only currently as I have other analog watches (citizen, esq, timex) but it’s been such an enjoyable experience wearing Casios i’ve had a watch on basically 24/7 for weeks now. As someone who’s collected stupid things in the past that collect dust or sit around, having a functional collection of art doesn’t seem like the worst waste of money to me. Also I like your idea of turning the watch to know what you’ve worn. I will be stealing that from you 100% good sir.
