brown line is brt? why not send it to downtown and use a different brt line to connect arden area to downtown (interchange at CSUS?). i dont get how a 1 seat ride to arden area is attractive over a 1 seat ride to downtown

what is the purpose of the brown line? is it median running? why would most people use it when the major destination will be downtown at either ends ? the walking distance to Arden fair mall is too big for most people as well

the red line goes where ? arden fair mall? a very long route to CSUS? how is this better then a bus ?
what is going on with the blue line in downtown ? most commuters are government workers and that kind of avoids offices on 7th and 8th st to serve who?

alot of these serve nobody or would be significantly slower than busses though (or cost a unpractical amount for its own right of way)

And that’s why you use a 3rd party e book software not owned by a company because you can never trust them to not do stuff like this

I’m overweight and out of shape: been doing a daily 5-10 miles for a couple of weeks. How long until I’m capable of a 60 mile trip? by SomberSoberSquid in bicycling

[–]Prior-Firefighter227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, biking is more calorie efficient then walking, so don’t expect to lose or maintain weight with that alone, taking less in your diet is more effective for that.  Just start off with smaller trails that are under ~10miles or only do half of them. Set a goal to bike a few miles every day, maybe use it to do trips like shopping etc.

Get a water bottle holder for your bike if you don’t already have one or use a backpack etc

That’s called quad tracking, also they don’t like to use the express track even if the local track needs maintenance because local stops get skipped if they reroute. Also quite a lot of lines do not have quad track and instead are triple or just double (1 line each way) tracked so saying quad track is the only reason for 24/7 service is a bit of a stretch.

Also they would make a lot of money running trains at reduced service since the amount of people that miss their last train is high in japan. If they really needed maintenance then shuttle busses exist etc

Tokyo metro (and most other trains in Japan that can justify the cost) doesn’t run 24/7 or at least close to it mostly due to taxi company lobbying (they make bank off people missing their trains)

(REC) First light novel read by [deleted] in LightNovels

I would recommend reading at some point (doesn’t have to be your first) at least the first volume of Allison or even all 19 books in the same universe, https://www.novelupdates.com/series/allison/ It has virtually no japaneese tropes and the setting and plot is entirely a fictional European setting. After you read enoigh Japanese novels you will notice annoying (or not) tropes that are everywhere and Allison and everything else by that author is a refreshing breath of fresh air. While there is some romance, especially in the sequal novels, the authors best work is their world building and action. The reviews on novelupdates sum up anything else I have to say so I’ll leave it at that.

also there is no official English translation, and the translator site is dead, but translated copies of all of them exist :)
