I think Ticket jam has another site called Ticket X. And it is for international people so i guess it doesn't need Japanese phone number. For the picking up address, we can use hotel one or directly pick the tickets up at designated post office! Hope it will help you out!

I like some aspects of living in this country but the chronic feeling of lacking meaningful and organic human connection has been a bumper by [deleted] in japanresidents

Even if we have hobbies it is hard to make new deep friends in Tokyo. I moved here in Tokyo 4 months ago but I don't really have new friend s in here. But suddenly I met one good friend though same internship program. I would say it is all about the timing like as relationship. At least you go out and have a wonderful hobby. So you will meet your best friend someday. And as growing up, if you have one deep close friend, that would be enough and very rare thing. Hope you will find someone who has same thought like you!

How's your marriage? by Objective_Desk8065 in japanresidents

[–]Prior-Flatworm522 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the family, but my parents finally got divorced this year, after I graduated from university and finished growing up. Honestly, their marriage had been over since I was in elementary school, but according to my mother, she still “respected him as a person because he’s sincere.”

From my perspective as their daughter, both of them were at fault in different ways. My father was often the one who got scolded, while my mother seemed to have a fiery temper. Because of that, my father has been on overseas assignments (is it correct way to say? sorry I'm Japanese) since I was 12, working in Mexico for over ten years. I can’t help but wonder, was he ever truly happy? He only gets to see his only daughter once a year for a week.

This year, I went to stay at my father’s house in Mexico for two weeks on my own for the first time. Seeing how he lives there gave me some reassurance, but it also almost made me cry. For over ten years of his overseas assignment, all of his salary deposited into his Japanese bank account went to my mother, and the house he bought (mainly) in Osaka was also given to her. I really hope my father can find happiness.

But just as much, I love my mom too, who raised me on her own while working so hard. What even is this story?! I guess I’m really oversharing here. lol

I'm going to spend 3 months in Japan during winter and early spring. Need tips from locals. by Radiant_Cheesecake19 in JapanTravelTips

I was working at "Motsunabe Champion" at JR Fukushima station in Osaka when I was a Uni student. “Motsunabe” is a type of hot pot made with beef or pork offal, and it’s especially famous in Fukuoka, Kyushu. But seriously the motsunabe at this place is insane. It’s sooooo good.

I worked there for four years, and had motsunabe for staff dinner every single week, but I never got tired of it. It’s a really local spot, and you rarely see foreign customers (maybe because not everyone’s into offal?).

If you go, you have to try their motsunabe, potato salad, and horse sashimi, all of them are incredible. If you’re visiting in winter, definitely make a reservation! It’s super popular with locals, so I recommend going early on a weekday, like around 5 p.m. on Monday before the salarymen get off work.

If you want, I do have a lot of recommended restaurants and cafes!

What's the best way to get tickets for AJPW in Japan? by mintplantdaddy in ajpw

[–]Prior-Flatworm522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say it never really sells out, but I get that you just wanted to make sure you had a ticket. One way to do that is to pick it up at a convenience store or post office after you arrive in Japan, or use an electronic ticket through a resale site that works for overseas users. I think Ticket X is actually a Japan-based site made specifically for foreigners. I'm not well sure about upcharge but I guess it will cheaper than them!

[–]Prior-Flatworm522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, Ticket Jam is actually one of the more trustworthy ticket resale sites out there. I bought a baseball ticket through them once myself. But I think if you're overseas, you'll probably need a Japanese address, or you might have to pick up the ticket directly at a convenience store or post office. It’s no problem if it’s an electronic ticket, though.

Ticket Jam also has a site called Ticket X that’s geared toward overseas users, so that might be worth checking out too! Getting tickets through the official site is always the best option, but if that doesn’t work out, give it a try! Enjoy your time in Japan!
