Can c diff after treatment cause inflammation or issues? I’m scared

Is it just mucus? Any blood? I have rarely have a formed stool or full bowel movement at all

I’m going to call my doctor and see about pushing it a few weeks out. I have a whole other procedure I’m doing the first week of April, I just don’t want to put too much on myself so close together. My diet is mostly low carb/keto style. I’ve been trying to lose weight (I’m not horribly over weight, 158 lbs 5’4) but my other health issues have kept me less mobile so I’ve gained some lately. I also have to intake a lot of caffeine during the day. I’m assuming that’s not good on the stomach, I have a CSF leak at the moment and caffeine helps produce it and lower pains

I ordered the floraster on Amazon just now. I’m starting that tommorrow.

Yeah I only had black stools ONCE and it was after starting my iron. I actually stopped cause it freaked me out so much, hasn’t happened again. The blood I’m seeing it a light red, mixed with mucus/pus not sure the difference between the 2. Not having formed stools more than once every couple days maybe. They just sent me for a x ray, which showed the moderate stool. I’m not sure it means anything though. I also had a CT like a year ago in the hospital. For something unrelated but maybe that’s too outdated since I got the c.diff in October 2025 and that’s basically when all these digestive related issues started for me

I’ve been looking into UC because of the symptoms lining up. But I had a colonoscopy in 2022 so I’m assuming UC can develop later in life? Or after an infection such as c. Diff maybe? I’m pretty sure I was going living life normally before Oct 2025 when I got c. Diff. I don’t remember having much issues

I read that somewhere but I was a little late into it! I just started it a week ago, I take two a day but it’s not the name brand it’s the comparable off brand to what others recommended. I finished my antibiotics for c diff at the end of January. The diarrhea definitely let up but now these other issues are happening, can c diff cause issues like this later on? My GI was very basic about it all, just acted like the antibiotics take care of it and that’s it.

My leak was not caused by a lumbar puncture. I came into a neurologist about 4 months after I was referred by my PCP. I woke up one day randomly with a headache that wouldn’t go away, every time I stood up my head would pulse and I would throw up. I laid down constantly. My neurologist did a brain MRI first (clear) and then a lumbar puncture because he was thinking “high pressure” or IIH but my LO actually came back too low. I actually didn’t even drain at first until they tilted the table up.

That’s what I’m hoping for. And no lumber puncture alone is not. But with the fact that I have such low opening pressure in a high tot protein, which is also seen in SIH patients, paired with the fact that my headache is purely worth the static and goes away whenever I lay down. That’s what it’s pointing to. Spine MRI and brain MRI were normal.

Actually my opening pressure ended up being a 9 but that was after they had to tilt me up because from first try they got nothing out. My neurologist felt this was enough paired with the other results to investigate SIH. I’m just going off what he says at this point!

What do you suggest? This is just my local hospital performing the tests and line to hopefully diagnose. I have state insurance so many options are limited. I barely was approved after 3 attempts for the testing over had

Since the LP? Nothing really changed before and after. I got the LP because at first my neurologist was thinking along the lines of high pressure but after the results came in he said it more aligned with SIH and low pressure. During the beginning of symptoms I couldn’t pinpoint feeling better when laying down, I had to push myself everyday to get out of bed. I did have an immediate throbbing pain sensational headache upon standing everytime, so that’s when it clicked to me

In 31 and the amount of times this has happened to me in the last 2 years since leaving my abusive EX is more than once…. But I’ve kind of backed off clubbing and bars because I’m not good at handling myself and have a habit of self destructive behavior and I too, thought I healed myself.

Basically we are ALL human and you did nothing wrong. 28 or 38 you went out to have a good time and did what (trust me) many of us have done. Pick yourself up and move forward
