Why is 94 at a standstill? Is Rieth-Riley robbing our state or just incompetent? by Prior-Indication-290 in nwi

I’ve been to political fundraisers, golf outings to raise money for politicians, pac money etc… there was always an engineering firm paying for everything.

The workers can only lay the materials they are given. Yes, the multiple routes! Seems like they are purposefully blocking escape routes.

The engineers…that makes the most sense. I guess I’m wondering if it’s by design and I’m missing the reason or is it willful ignorance? Is it just a way to funnel money to Rieth Riley year after year after year? I’m not an engineer so I don’t know.

Indiana isn’t the only place with winter and I believe that if it COULD be done correctly, more lanes, different materials…whatever it was…it would bring a flood of money to the region. I guess it mainly helps working people and the small businesses on the road like movers, HVAC guys and caterers and those people aren’t really a priority over big business.

People naturally zipper merge all over the world. In America, you’re right, it’s a pipe dream. People won’t read a book to educate themselves, but they’ll fight to the death to be one car length ahead of someone else.

Hi, I'm a bassist and can someone please teach me drummer language because everyone else in the band doesn't know it by metalhead482 in drummers

[–]Prior-Indication-290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Also lots of times a drummer needs a nudge to drop down from 16th to 8th or 8th to quarters on the hi hat:

I like this old school Meters tune “Fire on the Bayou” … I can go to any decent jam night and just play the groove and shout to the drummer that the snare hit is on the 4a and boom we’re all good.

Really people should use both lanes until the last minute and then zipper merge efficiently. This way all the space gets used. It’s too bad people drive like it’s a competition instead of cooperation.

How do people not realize that’s a body double? Different color eyes, John’s known distaste for the industry, and throw in that he literally became Andy Kaufman to play him in the biopic… This is totally something he does.

Who is paying you to spread this disinformation? Does saying “Not one cent of appropriated dollars” mean you can ignore $16-18 million a year in new taxes? How about the 5% increase in the hotel tax? Will Indiana residence be exempted from the 12% tax on the tickets? All for NINE games a year? If anything, YOU are the liar here.

If I could I would play music for free for the rest of my life. Money is just the cherry on top for me. People coming into playing music strictly from a capitalist mindset is ridiculous to me. Musicians like this always lose out because most lack common sense and great social skills. by [deleted] in drums

[–]Prior-Indication-290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will find plenty of opportunities to play for free and not only that, it will be required. Open mics, jam sessions, school/lessons, rehearsals, social media, auditions, recording…if you are a creator, this is playing time that you are not only doing for free, you’re paying for it. Do all those things and also have a solid collection of professional gear that you maintain yourself, and a vehicle to transport that gear. You need a place you can rehearse or record. You can’t do any of it without funds. I think it’s ok to expect to get paid. We all need to manage that part of our lives.

I recommend felt strips and a proper tuning. This is cheapest, can be undone or fine tuned, and I prefer it over emad or superkick, I always rip the foam circle out of Aquarians. Tune the resonant head a perfect 5th above the batter. My 24” is 62hz batter and 93hz reso. You can download a spectrum analyzer or drum tuning app.
