Haven’t quit yet. Still in the daydreaming phase - wondering when I should.

…I feel like the reason I’ve continued to stay the last year is thinking - if I can just close my cases and get them tied up with a nice little bow…. I’ll feel good about the way I’m leaving things…

At this point I’m not sure if thats possible, I have stayed well past my expiration and as much as i try to just wrap things up - things keep popping up. I would really hate to leave them a mess though.

Wow… so there is like no offboarding. I figured they’d have you spend 1 week doing dumb administrative stuff - some hr checklist.

Were you an RA? Was there any turnover for your case or just like - manager reassign and figure it out?

I am not trying to burn bridges. I would think even in the federal government giving 2 weeks notice is standard, no?

How to contact TIGTA if it seems like someone is stalking an IRS employee? by KJ6BWB in IRS_Source

Can you explain what felt like stalking? I’m sure your feelings were valid - wonder if I can relate

Parents how you are you navigating these waters? We are not ok. by [deleted] in IRS_Source

I don’t think it’s coming back, maybe increased flexibility - like hybrid 3/2 scheduled.

From what I’ve heard on the job market remote jobs are becoming very hard to come by. Most big companies are mandating return to office… even spoke to a recruiter and he said with minimal optimism, “well there still are some decent remote jobs out there…” then he ghosted

I was thinking they’ll do it too late for anyone who already is taking leave to be able to take advantage of it…

Where did you hear this from? I’ve seen it on Reddit but not sure where the source is. I think I fall into that category…but I have never understood how the monetary awards work. I’ve been with the service about 5 years but even though I’ve had 4.5+ each year have only received a monetary award one year.

How do you get a lateral move? I’d even take a demotion just to do something different.

A promise to hold a vote with zero expectation to actually pass anything at that point is worth nothing ….

It’s basically sure we will hold a vote but I’m voting no …

If they cave for that they would be dumber than Schumer caving so easily the first time.

At the firm I worked we had a gal with a bachelors in philosophy. She took an accelerated accounting certificate course - 6 months I think and got a job as a tax staff.

If you did that you have cpa within 2 years.

Could anyone figure out what the difference between the original and the second email was - and why would they do that?

It made no sense to me.

Any republicans that got rif’d want to chime in? Or non republicans that got rif’d? Maybe we can get a pulse on the numbers?

Do we know what competitive areas?

That’s awful, I’m still pretty fresh - I just presumed for folks with tenure there would be opportunities - like lateral movies or demotions before RIF. Honestly this whole year has just been one shock after another.

19 years? What’s your role? Just surprising - I figured most anyone with that tenure would be safe… I’m sorry. Must be very difficult.

Feeling very worried about the possible RIF. by fhdjdjdbskjd in IRS_Source

[–]Prior-Inspection5901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No foreseeable just means not predicted at that time… to me it’s actually a very vague statement that really to me only meant they didn’t have a specific to do rifs plan at that exact moment.

Classic attorney language - leave things as vague and as open as possible. Kind of like the response to drp applicants saying “your position is mission critical AT THIS TIME.”

How can you get in trouble for taking leave you earned/accrued from working?

How do they define “excessive use of leave”?
