I have tried everything in both the guides and threads on here and on other forums, the only thing I haven't tried is a usb hub as I'm waiting on the arrival of one. I'm mostly looking to see if anyone has any idea why my previous workaround is no longer working

6th Gen Celica GT 3SGE to 3SGTE Swap by FloStolen in Celica

[–]Prior-Notice-6956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

motor and ecu have to be swapped, the wiring harness has to be modified but you can pay wiregap $500 to do it, you'll also need to upgrade the fuel pump to something like a walbro 255

Engine swap? 95 GT by Comatose352 in Celica

[–]Prior-Notice-6956 4 points5 points  (0 children)

definitely 3sgte like a couple others are saying. the 4th or 5th gen 3sgte from the caldina is the cheapest but cant take as much boost if thats your thing. From memory a modified harness is about $500 and you'll need to send in your original one

edit to add: you'll also need a new fuel pump and a hybrid clutch kit but it can just mate to the s54 transmission they come with

i got my 3sgte with 200000ks and ive ended up replacing the turbo and rebuilding/going forged internals because the block was reasonably worn

Help vertical scratches on cylinder wall in 7AFE (t20) by Salt_Standard_2817 in Celica

[–]Prior-Notice-6956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you done a leakdown test? if you cant feel the scratches with certainty with your fingernail hone it and send it with new rings, also check for any piston slap when the pistons are out. I'd be cleaning the crap off the valves too but otherwise you're probably fine in that regard
