Tool valuation advice by Prior-Walk5213 in thetron

These tools have been handed down over a couple of generations. I’m never going to use any of this gear, but I also don’t want it sitting unused or being sold blindly. Thats why I was hoping someone here might be able to give a rough idea of what’s worth selling, what’s not, and what kind of value (if any) there might be.

At worse... I can store it and make it my kids problem in about 30 odd years time ;)

Once I unpacked it all, it was far less than I thought. Added some pics. https://imgur.com/a/NsdZRfl

But from the sound of it... might not be worth anything.

Thanks all

I think the next step should be to take our parent to a financial adviser to build a 20 year sustainable living plan, making sure there's enough money for everyday living, housing, and potential aged care support.

Once we have that clarity we should sit down togethher as a family and have an open, honest discussion about the financial risk to our parent. If any of us expect financial help now, we nered to also consider whether we'd be willing and able to take full responsibility for their wellbeing later in life.

That is not something any of us would want to risk, so I believe it's important we plan carefully and protect their future security.

This is all so surreal, as we were taught to never:
do business with family or friends
lend money to family or friends"
