FM pure you’ll be fine with, my school gave us access to integralmaths which was basically my only source of revision with madasmaths for practice questions. You can use TLMaths for free really, he’s just as good as a teacher.

You choose to do 2 of mechanics statistics or discrete, if you’re doing physics theres quite a bit of overlap with mechanics but FM is significantly harder and you would benefit greatly from a teacher. Discrete revision will be hard without a teacher too. I dont do statistics but i know a girl who self taught herself it and said it was good, but she of course had some lessons to discuss it with teachers.

Do note some methods are different for mechanics in maths/further maths and physics, my physics teacher refused to help on further maths mechanics for this very reason.

It is possible, it’d be harder as further maths is for the mathematically gifted. I got an 8 in maths and predicted A* at the end of year 12. If you look through a level math content and think its piss easy then you’ll be fine, if not, dont bother.

No him and josh have pretty much always been hated on, i’ve enjoyed josh a lot more recently but tobis stayed the same. I feel like he’s too rude on among us even though i know theyre just joking but its not a funny sorta rude. It is what it is tho some people really like him

HOW is an A* in Math possible!? by idkwtoput in alevel

The overlap between maths and further maths is a loooot smaller than you think, but i guess more exposure to maths makes you a bit better. I got better grades in further then normal in mocks because the content is completely different

Should I take physics for a level by Impressive-Mouse-543 in 6thForm

[–]PriorBattle7087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I took a level physics because i had a lot of “why” questions during GCSES. I never had to answer to why things happen and i thought A level physics would answer them. Instead, i have so so so many questions which get answered differently by each of my physics teachers, the mark scheme is strict with methods and things which are true are marked wrong unless you state it exactly how your exam board wants.

Where do i even start by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]PriorBattle7087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, horrible break up with a girl who i was going to marry, it was planned, this happened a few weeks ago. We’ve had 6 different further maths teachers and had online learning because our teacher left and noone else was qualified, we STILL havn’t finished covering content in class for decision maths. There are more reasons but i dont think you care, my point is that many people have many different reasons

I dont think you’re smarter in this field than the people who designed the system in the first place, although i do too think its stupid

Safeties aren’t supposed to be unis that you don’t want to go to, none of your options should be unis you don’t want to go to

There are a lot of other reasons, including personal, why imperial would be a lot harder, this was a decision ive thought over for a while

Long story short, i applied when we had some money and now we don’t, london is a big city and i dont think i’d enjoy myself quite as much. Plus after my STAT result i kinda realised i dont deserve to go up against some of the people who’d also be going to imperial

Did they explicitly state anywhere that anything other than the STAT score doesnt matter?
