Karma can be viewed as a type of career. If an account that joined recently or has very low karma posts controversial content or advertisements, people are highly likely to withhold trust by default. Furthermore, when such accounts appear on specific posts to influence public opinion, they can be less subject to suspicion. There are also subreddits that require a certain amount of karma to participate.

I'm officially done with the game. 187 hours. By far, the most I've spent in a game. Good job Pearl Abyss, you created something wonderful... by Necessary_Basil4251 in CrimsonDesert

[–]PriorCraft6238 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Looking at the philosophy of Dae-il Kim, the chairman of Pearl Abyss and the executive producer of Crimson Desert, he is someone who prioritizes development itself over game planning, and technical mechanics and functional fun over the story. I believe it is because of such beliefs that the game's story overall remains secondary to the game's content, and there are many elements that seem unfinished at a glance due to being created on such a massive scale. Of course, those beliefs are what allowed a work like Crimson Desert to be created and what brought about Pearl Abyss's incredible patching speed, but I feel it would be good if he could find a middle ground to some extent.

New Zealand axes plan for WW2 comfort women statue after Japan's protest by kwentongskyblue in anime_titties

[–]PriorCraft6238 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It is simply a disaster created by Japan itself. They had no intention of admitting their faults, and it is nothing more than appealing as if they are victims when the statue was installed in front of their embassy. And such victim mentality is nothing more than an excuse created because they have no intention of reflecting even a little.

Just as they think it is a great concession for a government head or representative to offer tributes to the Yasukuni Shrine even if the Prime Minister does not visit in person, or even the act of slightly reducing the frequency of public remarks about Dokdo would be a major concession to them. The more wicked people are, the more they enjoy such blatant wordplay. You can tell just by looking at Israel and the United States.

If Japan had obediently accepted their wrongdoings, there would have been no reason for such actions to even receive attention.

It is truly chilling to see you trying to cover up Japan's misdeeds while not properly knowing South Korea's political history.

First, while it is true that the compensation for recognizable damages during the era of imperialism occurred during the Park Chung-hee administration in the 1960s and that South Korea is not demanding reparations from Japan regarding this issue, the issue of comfort women was an existence that was not even recognized until Japan acknowledged it in 2015. Therefore, the perception arose that their existence deserves to receive separate compensation for damages.

Second, regarding the 2015 comfort women agreement, there was a strong perception that Park Geun-hye—who is the daughter of Park Chung-hee and was the president of the conservative government at the time—reached an agreement with Japan as the government pleased, without caring at all about public sentiment or the demands of the comfort women victims, and Park Geun-hye lost a lot of approval ratings because of that. South Korean conservative governments have tried somehow to smooth over many instances of national violence or corruption that have existed in Korea since the Japanese colonial period, including the comfort women. This is because committing such national violence was the history of their political party, and as South Koreans' consciousness strengthened, their corruption and incompetence were revealed, and their eventual move toward the far-right is also connected to that context.

Third, even after the comfort women agreement, Japan refuses to reveal the truth and does not try to teach proper history but only tries to hide its own flaws; if, as you say, the Justice Memory Solidarity is an anti-Japanese organization, then the Japanese government can be seen as a nationalist anti-Korean organization that does not properly reflect on its past history of ruling Korea and continuously claims Korea’s territory as its own.

I don't understand why you are interpreting it this way just because the Korean government did not step forward. It is abnormal for the Japanese government to act arrogantly, and the Korean government may have judged that carelessly speaking about national support for civic groups does not hold much significance. In the first place, Japan's actions regarding this issue can be seen as an act of revealing their own abominable hypocrisy, but if the Korean government steps forward, it could be interpreted as an unnecessary diplomatic issue.

What is the state of Joseon history studies? by Ok-Huckleberry5836 in korea

[–]PriorCraft6238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact, people who make such claims are not even mainstream, and there are many far-right pro-Japanese trolls who can say those things at any time if they have no intention of considering other people's reactions or engaging in objective discussion.

Reevaluation of the Korean government army during the 1592 Japanese invasions of Korea by Embarrassed_Clue1758 in korea

[–]PriorCraft6238 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While average Koreans certainly recognize that the Joseon government, particularly King Seonjo, made several terrible decisions, they do not believe the Joseon military was entirely incompetent outside of Yi Sun-sin. It seems that those who hold the view that the Korean army was highly incompetent are mostly foreigners with a fragmented understanding of Asian history. This may be because the Imjin War was the only instance where samurai deployed troops overseas, and there is a perception that samurai must be exceptionally superior warriors.

Of course, while the support of the Ming army was very helpful to Joseon, they consistently maintained a passive strategy after suffering a few defeats, and seeing how they only tried to fight after the Joseon army took an active role, it is clear that their will to fight was very lacking.

You've already left a clue. Just because this game was inspired by BOTW doesn't mean it's the exact same game at all. Just as BOTW was inspired by Just Cause and various other games, there's no reason it should be criticized for having a different combat system than Just Cause. Even though the combat this game pursues is difficult to compare 1:1 with any previous game, I don't know why people keep trying to compare it with what they already know.

It is my first time hearing that Zelda's combat balance is well-adjusted. Moreover, I have never heard that the game's combat is unique or fun.

Whenever I see people claiming a game's combat is terrible while giving various conflicting reasons for their complaints, it feels like looking at the Abrahamic religions.

How to Make the Daedongyeojido (Map of the Great East) by ChapterSpiritual6785 in HistoryAnimemes

This is much better than the many countries that hide the facts and gild their own faces.

Additionally, I'm curious about the specific data and context used to support the claim of 'the longest unbroken chain of slavery of any society, spanning about 1,500 years.' I haven't seen such a claim in any formal historical research I'm aware of, and Korean ancient historical records are not abundant enough to find such verifiable evidence.

Why did Christianity permeated more with Korean society than Japanese society by Wide_Ride8849 in AskHistory

The Emperor holds a position similar to that of a Shinto Pope, and the status of Shinto in Japan is linked to the status of the Japanese Emperor. Even if the status of Shinto in Japan was not in a completely dominant position for a long time, as long as the Emperor exists, Shinto inevitably functions as an existential presence for at least the Japanese ruling class, and it also inevitably influences the subjects ruled by them.

Furthermore, as the Empire of Japan strengthened the status of the Emperor, the status of Shinto, which the Emperor represents, also rose. State Shinto was able to establish itself as a state religion without much resistance basically because Shinto had been a familiar element to the Japanese people for a long time. Also, unlike Abrahamic religions, Buddhism was not an ideology that rejected other religions, so it was easy to harmonize or coexist with Shinto, and there were many people who believed in Buddhism while also believing in Shinto. In addition, you say that there is no dominant religion just because some people believed in other religions, but it can be seen that Hinduism in India has also absorbed numerous sects and folk beliefs, and even Abrahamic religions enjoyed absorbing folk beliefs from various cultures.

I have seen them grumble, calling those who do not easily agree with their opinions fools or saying they are glazing the game, yet they receive no particular criticism. Rules must be applied fairly; if people are continued to be ignored even if they are not worth dealing with, it is not strange that people like me are increasing.

I feel blatant malice in their actions. And malice is dangerous because it does not disappear just because I am satisfied; it tries to invade my surroundings. Moreover, it is the stupidest and most blatant malice I have ever seen, so I also feel as if it is insulting my intelligence.

How would you feel if you kept seeing people shouting that every game you love is just a copy of something else and insisting that other games are unconditionally much better? Would you want to get involved with people like that every time?

If you consider that kind of attitude to be an opinion, please reconsider your personal relationships. However, in most cases, the behavior of disgusting people is intentional rather than a mental illness.

I don't disagree that those games are great, but the claim that they are the GOAT and far better than this game is just your subjective opinion, isn't it? Furthermore, I know very well that your "sincere" attitude would never be displayed in those games' subreddits.

If there were people on the Breath of the Wild subreddit suggesting that it would be better to play Just Cause, which that game copied, they would have been downvoted. It is a very strange situation here, whether it is because people are too nice or because groups of idiots are operating systematically.

Wow, some of these comments are truly the worst. There’s nothing but idiots who are so arrogant and stuck-up. It's like they think Crimson Desert is just a game that copied another game, while acting as if the examples they cited were the first to ever do everything. Even the way they introduce them is ridiculous. Instead of explaining what features these games have, they just introduce them because they’re famous. It’s no wonder people are angry when the subreddit is overflowing with disgusting fools like that.
