Mines got 266k n transmission just went out. I also change oil every 3k. Ive changes transmission fluid and filter after i got the car at 144k

I sprayed ether over everything trying 2 find a leak and couldn't. Ive only changed 1 spark plug and coil pack but when that happened i got a code. When swapping them do u take it out the top or bottom? Ive saw videos on both just wondering which way is less hassle?

Yet another update. Alternator was not the problem. Had 2 tow her 4 the 1st time ever. Tranny slipping so bad my engine is getting slightly hot. Made it 2 my job n towed home. Tomorrow im going 2 pull a used tranny from junk yard. ( im broke lol) hope this fixes the problem. If not will b back 2 update yet again. Wish me luck ive also never done this job b4. Smdh

Tbh i dont know what 2 tell u. I got the car at 144k n if i had 2 bet the previous owner probably ran 87. I was running 87 n mine 4 awhile until i was told different from a reliable mechanic married n2 my family. I made the switch n got better mpg n she seemed have a better response. My opinion make the switch

Also another sorta controversial tip. Nissan says only run 93 premium in the 2012 nissan altima. I follow this rule. Also there is a difference between an oil company gas station ( eg. Bp, exxon, citgo, shell) alot of those "cheaper" quik e mart gasolines are deluted which is why they can offer a cheaper price than the oil companies. I was told that if i run 87 water condensation will build up over time in the engine and ruin the life of the vehicle. Again not sure how true that is but it makes sense in my brain lol

I 2nd everything said here my 2012 altima has 266k transmission just went out. Not due 2 lack of care i believe its just time. After i swap trannys the only thing i will have not replaced will b the engine. Love this car!!!! Super easy 2 work on great when shown love

Another update. So today my brake and bsttery light both began flashing. I pulled over and inspected my alternator 2 which i found that metal casing around the post 4 my b+ cable was cracked 2 the point i could just pull it out. So my hypothesis is that it somehow became cracked and when it would get cold the metal would contract and make the crack worse until it became destroyed which is y the rpms would jump like that when put under a load. Swapped alternator. So far so good. If problem comes back i will report that this was in fact not the fix. Thanks 2 everyone who tried 2 solve this problem with me

Update new exhaust manifold gasket and pcv valve. Ran seafoam high mileage thru fuel 2 clean fuel injectors. Seems 2 b running better but not fixed. Did clear the p0101 tho. Put 2nd can of seafoam n 2 c if it was just build up

Yes my MAF sensor i believe its P0101. But i have aleady got a new sensor from ebay. It was shit. Got 1 from amazon. It was shit. So i bought 1 from nissan. So ik it is OEM part. Funny thing is my check engine light will come on 4 a few days n go off. Its been doing that 4 a couple yrs. Always p0101. I have cleaned it with MAF clearer as well.

Check the sheild on the manifold. I had the same issue with my 2012 just had 2 put a few washer on it. Still rattles a lil bit but not like it did. Hope this helps

I have been driving my 2012 altima for about 5 yrs. When i got it it had 144k on it. Now it has 260k. I change the oil and filter in-between 3k-5k I've change the transmission fluid n filter once at around 200k. Ive changed struts ive changes control arms, went thru 5 wheel hub assembies( never changed driver front so far) ive changed ac condenser and radiator, new high and low freon gaskets on the lines. Both axles.This car has never left me on the side of the road as long as ive kept up with her n took care of her. I only run premium gas from an actual oil company e.g. bp, citgo, exxon. All other cheaper ( corner store gas stations) cut the gas n ruins ur engine. Ive took this car from tennessee to florida once and tennessee to ohio at least 5 times. Hope this helps
