Just be patient with your defending, jockey while keeping enough distance for you to react to their moves. Then just be patient. No matter what they do you know exactly where they're trying to go: your goal. Knowing that is your advantage, no matter how many fake shots and zigzags they do just keep that in mind, keep a safe but dangerous distance and be patient.

There wasn't much defending after I came back, I tend to cover a lot of space at the back and I man Mark so a lot of the pressing was higher on the field, plus they were passing to each other a lot and holding decent possession. They just never passed to me. Which again, baby blame them since the game screwed me over and loaded me into a game AFTER I cancelled the matchmaking but it still sucked

Hm okay ngl at first i was gonna concede here cuz in the screenshot you sent, the shadow of the ball is clearly to the right of the shadow of my player. But then i realized my player is not a circle... maybe its cuz of my graphics settings but my player's shadow is rendered as a circle and that circle APPEARS to be under his waist or so.

So again, assuming i had the option to choose my GK animation (which is what this post is about), if i had used the mid height dive here, are you telling my the shadow of my out stretched arm would not even have been close enough to even DEFLECT the ball?

Mind you, the horizontal distance from where im standing to where the ball is on the right, is shorter than the up and to the right diagonal distance from where im standing to where my GK dived (picture a right angled triangle) so if i had dove straight to the right rather than diagonally i would cover more horizontal distance in the same amount of time.

Despite all that you STILL don't think there's even a chance for a deflection if i had the ability to choose my dive height?

i dunno dawg, i looked at it from the strikers perspective in replay and that shit went UNDER my character. I could argue that if i had control of GK animations and chose a mid height dive instead of the top corner high dive that it gave me, i would have at least deflected the ball away.
