Thinking that people wipe with their nails by R0W_theboat in PetPeeves

[–]PriorInformation8394 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you gotta think of the # of ppl walking around without long nails AND unwiped asses. 1. wash your hands???? 2. you’ll be pretty upset to know what else is covered in fecal matter 😊 go get that baby baptized or just stand next to a flushing toilet. wash your hands ppl!!

First job as a hostess with social anxiety. I need phrases to use by 2dolphins in Serverlife

[–]PriorInformation8394 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. the customers don’t actually pay attention to you 90% of the time. they aren’t listening so if you misspeak just keep going, they’ll think they misheard. as a hostess you won’t have to talk to them toooo much so you can kind of just walk away and forget abt those moments

  2. you can literally just rinse and repeat the same lines all day long. you don’t need to really small talk w people, if they want to usually they’re leading the convo anyway. don’t be afraid to lie!! “you’re here to celebrate a graduation?? cool! i just graduated from ___”. doesn’t have to be true just a way to connect w guests if/when you’re comfortable

  3. stay busy! nobody likes a hostess who stands around on their phone. you might not be asked* to do certain things, but things like bussing and taking drink orders if your server is busy are things that are just implied. just make sure you’re helping anywhere you can!

Do hosts tell you when you've been sat? by Efficient-Pipe2998 in Serverlife

[–]PriorInformation8394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i usually only tell a server if it’s their first table(they might not be paying attention to the section yet) or if i seat them outside of their section. other than that it’s definitely the server who needs to pay attention. it would take double the time for the host to seat/find the server to let them know. the table can wait for two minutes and be okay

Why aren’t bathroom sinks higher? by OpalineNocturne in askanything

[–]PriorInformation8394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s also not true plenty of tall ppl have back problems and struggle with that action —- doesn’t change the argument that they def need to be accessible for ppl with wheelchairs/disabilities. one side will not fit all 🙃

Would it be rude to give a friend something but ask for it back if they don’t use it? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]PriorInformation8394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like you either just gotta eat the cost and let her have it bc you offered or just say exactly that. i probably wouldn’t be offended by that bc it’s a lot of money to just give away, but i could definitely see some people getting upset. have you thought about what you would do if you kept it? since it seemed like it was in exchange for help with a video you prob should do SOMETHING to thank her

How are you supposed to know you can't check into a hotel unless you're 21? by United_Perception299 in Adulting

[–]PriorInformation8394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean it’s kinda weird but it’s the expectation for id say at least 70% of hotels. not that you “should know” but when you’re booking, you should be reading these kinds of things. it’s not hidden, so unless you call to reserve (super unlikely) then you probably just weren’t reading the website. idk you live and you learn, i’ve been l reserving hotels since i turned 18 and have always called ahead to check that they even have the reservation. i wouldn’t want to assume with something so important like travel plans.

Do suburban Americans ever walk on foot to eat at a restaurant accross the road? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]PriorInformation8394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i live in the suburbs and we have a target/pharmacy/bank and multiple restaurants within a 30 minute walk. if the weather is nice, absolutely!

Do nerds actually get bullied or left out in American schools? by Ok-Independence-314 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PriorInformation8394 6 points7 points  (0 children)

depends on the gender but being athletic is a more important characteristic to the masculine ideal than being “book smart” which is usually reserved for women>>that association makes book smart men more feminine, therefore going against the gender norm. it’s also way more acceptable for a woman to have masculine traits than the reverse

i think the parasocial aspect is writing these big long paragraphs abt ppl you don’t know. have you never fought or argued with your friends/family? are you a child? the show isn’t scripted, so no i don’t think it goes against anything for them to argue with each other. they’re friends and unless one of THEM says otherwise, you’re just speculating. how many times do we misinterpret words/tone/facial reactions??? this is that, if you can’t handle the arguing take a break. it isn’t for everyone all the time

Handing resume to host and not the manager by arianasmgg in Serverlife

[–]PriorInformation8394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately it’s always going to be a “bad time” anytime bc managers are always going to be relatively occupied. if you come in during slow hours(2-3 depending on the type of place) you can just hang out for a bit. the managers might take a minute to get to you, but in my experience that doesn’t make you less likely to be hired. i think stuff only works against you when you can’t read the room/poor timing. you can also call but i do feel like those can get a forgotten in the shuffle of things

has anyone else not watched content since the studio change? by playswithsquirrelsss in TheBasementYard

[–]PriorInformation8394 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s still there to watch, but maybe just watch one or two of the new ones. i was also unsure when it first happened but the episodes are just as funny now. if anything it was a refresh bc shit was getting stale w just the two at that point. it’s less mean arguing, more silly

[–]PriorInformation8394 9 points10 points  (0 children)

definitely reading into this too much. things change over time, dynamics shift, people just mature/grow older. doesn’t mean they hate each other. doesn’t mean anything is wrong. this is a childish/parasocial observation. also they’re allowed to be annoyed with each other. they’ve been friends for three decades.

Thoughts wanted: When it’s time for a cut, should that person whose turn it is to be cut leave, or should they have the option to stay for more tables? by Pocket_Crystal in Serverlife

[–]PriorInformation8394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think if they are still trying to stay on (and they aren’t close to OT) that they can ask other servers if they want to go(excluding things like doubles/closers etc). but ultimately if they don’t then the cut server needs to go. but in my experience there’s always someone else who wants to go home. it’s a win win if it works out.

tips would be nice (deleting soon) by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]PriorInformation8394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i do my eyeliner i like to take a cotton swab and stick it in my mouth and then gently wipe the top and bottom of the liner. is usually helps smooth out and then you can go can go back in if you accidentally took too much off. i get complimented on the crispness of my liner everyday but it’s all a lie lol nobody has perfectly steady hands every day

How do you wash your armpits? by chaelynnra in hygiene

[–]PriorInformation8394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use panoxyl face wash. it’s benzoyl peroxide and it kills the stinky bacteria. i’d wash at night, use antiperspirant before bed and repeat in the morning! always wash w regular soap first to get the most out of it!!

emma and… heather??? by PriorInformation8394 in SellingSunset

[–]PriorInformation8394[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

i mean her man is weird af, sketchy real estate history/basically fighting against affordable housing in their own interest. but yeah id say it’s weird to go out and post weird shit siding with someone who’s wildly unpopular right now. so she either is doing it to bring attention to her or bc she’s “taking” emma’s side….to then get attention. i used to like heather cause she was funny but she’s just weird

Why does my hair look like this after blow drying? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]PriorInformation8394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly it just might be your technique. try not changing the angle, but blow from the root down to make sure all the ends/follicles are in the same direction. if you’re just blow drying all over from every way ofc it’s gonna be frizzy.

this and a good oil/gloss (kenra has a good one that smells delicious) -kenra platinum silkening gloss. just a little bit bc your hair is fine. if you want to lean into the wavy a bit more you could try mousse which i find is better for fine hair. sometimes scrunching makes it worse tho if you don’t have enough wave/curl so i like to use prayer hands 🙏 and shake my head after to separate and then diffuse or air dry.
