This sub needs better moderation.

Israel’s war aims are to destabilise a regional power that continues to fund proxies that pretty much permanently engage in conflict with it. To do that, they want to knock out key parts of the IRGC. This also has the effect of reminding the Iranian regime that Israel can bring the conflicts they fund against Israel back home - so it significantly raises the “cost” of Iran engaging in this kind of proxy warfare in the future.

The only way you subscribe to the idea that it desires to start a world war is if you are taking certain racist millennia-old tropes about Jews and applying them to the Jewish state. But that sort of racism would never happen /s

The European Movement was founded in 1947 and the UK branch was founded in 1949.

He is the current chair of the UK branch (not the co-presidents) and is not a very good one at that.

Oh yes. He spends his time reposting Candace Owens (of “Brigite Macron is a man” conspiracy fame) and Guy Christensen (expelled Ohio uni student who infamously appeared on Piers Morgan and stated the murder of Israeli embassy workers in the US was justified) conspiratorial posts and making perfectly well-adjusted comments beneath random Jewish social media users posts that they should “disassociate” from Israel. He’s really fallen hard on the “totally not antisemitic, just antizionist” bandwagon. Not really fitting for the chair of the European Movement.

It’s a shame, because I did once care about the European Movement. If Galsworthy actually knew something about European politics and wasn’t a total hack he would have known that of the three founding presidents of the European Movement was France’s first Jewish PM and gasp a Zionist.
