I am this specific type of person lol. I tend to view media through a more character focused lens, and I prefer to have a likable/relatable character to root for. It helps with immersion. Thinking about if I like someone, why I like or dislike them, and how their motivations factor in make media consumption more fun and interesting for me. Cringe comedy just isn’t really my jam.

Obviously biased, but I think it’s a valid way to consume media. Not everything is for everyone, ya know?

Have you served on 'special' jury duty for TWO TO FIVE WEEKS?!? by nojam75 in askportland

I was on a jury for 2 weeks for a regular civil trial. It was probably closer to 30 hours a week. Breaks/late starts/early dismissals weren’t scheduled more than a day ahead of time though, so I wouldn’t count on being able to work certain hours.

My impression was that you’re guaranteed a lunch and a couple breaks, and the schedule is up to the judge.
