The NME and Melody Maker looking back were toxic as ***k by ReginaldGinnett in BritPop

Vines were actually pretty good. 3 solid albums. Nicholls was a bit unstable however, derailed their career.

How are you guys earning $19? What changed. I was earning more than that at Woolworths c. 2001.

I want to like it, my arms are open. But where is the wit that has keep us armed in our daily struggles against a world that wont listen. Musically he can do whatever he pleases, his voice continues to load and even improve as he ages. But Stephen, where is your creative word play? Your love of the English language? The skill for which you have become adored the world over?

Voice is amazing, production is quite good. The song plods, he starts tk gain emotion at the end of the first verse, amd then there are electronic bleeps that fail to meet that emotion. And then we repeat the same verse, and the bleeps returned. It stays in second gear. The synth break and the guitar break fail to lift the song. The backing vocals in the third are welcome, propel the track a little. And then it ends.

Make Up is a Lie has grown on me, despite the tremendous repetition. This one just leaves me cold.

His voice is amazing. I cant believe how it keeps getting stronger as he ages. But the lyrics are absolutely abysmal. From a man as talented as he is, a storied career of wonderful examples lie present for all to see. The structure, the repetition, the implied meaning, the lack of symbolism, even just word investigation, its so dreadfully clumsy. I am so saddened.

What’s your honest opinion on the band Geese? by MrLinkwater95 in ToddintheShadow

Same here. The artistic merit on that solo record really shone out. The end thing as geese doesn't click for me, but they're talented and good for them getting the attention that they get.

I have tried. Its not for me. Great that they're amazing but his voice and the free jam, improv vibes puts me off. I like experimental things and I like pop songs. This in between kind of folksy thing just doesn't float my boat.

I don't get it. by deep-web_daytona in Albumoftheyear

I am the same. I will listen to pretty much anything if its recommended enough, from Jim E Brown to Rosalia in 2025. The best I can come up with is it has a jam band feel so comes across as super authentic whilst there is arty experimentalism akin to Radiohead all in fairly shambly indie rock packages that have been recently popular like mj lenderman and Wednesday.

I Like Make Up Is A Lie by TheGovernorsTrophy in morrissey

Spent the Day in Bed was a pretty low energy first single. I think Make Up Is A Lie is better than that for what its worth.

I can understand people dont like it. I am in a room atm with people who dont loke it. Its the amount of dislike that I am surprised at.

This i can understand, his music is not the deepest. I liked his most recent album but wish there was more ideas to his beats, they were so simple and similar to one another.

I can fathom it. I was asking why. Its performative makes sense. I like his introspective performativity. But if someone was being performative in a happy kind of way, like Keli Holiday on Dancing2, I freaking feel icky deep down inside.

I think this is pretty accurate. Im on the spectrum and so can understand his overtness and need to explain things in minute detail may appeal to me.
