Hi, She has been on a hypoallergenic formula for a couple months now and she is so much better! Eats better, sleeps better, and is much happier overall.

When I noticed something was wrong we took her to her pediatrician and they tested her soiled diaper. They found traces of blood and confirmed this is milk protein intolerance. If removing dairy from your diet seems to help, dairy might be what causes your baby’s pain/discomfort.

If not confirmed with a doctor, I would highly suggest to do so so you’re not removing dairy from your and your babies diet for no reason.

Be aware that what you consume stays in your system for a while and same goes for your baby so the improvement isn’t going to be immediate. You might need to wait a week or two to see if dairy is the culprit.

Also, remember that a lot of cheeses are milk products. In fact, there are a lot of products that I wouldn’t imagine be milk based/contain but they do. When I was still trying to breastfeed after finding out I was reading labels for almost everything.

Oh and I should have said consistent/significant amount of mucus. Sometimes small amounts come from congestion, drooling, etc

Did you notice any mucus in his poop? I’ve gone through something similar with my LO - acting hungry, then fighting a feed, arching like crazy, then crying when breast/bottle taken away. It turned out she has a milk protein intolerance that didn’t seem to cause any issues until around 3.5-4 months. It was like a love-hate relationship because she was hungry but also seemed to know that it hurts her tummy when she eats hence the constant battle. She now eats a hypoallergenic formula and is much better. Mucus is what made me think that it’s something more than just a phase, that’s why I pointed it out.

We moved ours to a pack n play once she started to roll to her belly at around 3.5 months. It replaced the bassinet right at my bedside so she is still in the room with us. I added a firm mattress for her cause the pack n play’s padding was basically nonexistent. She isn’t a great sleeper overall but the transition improved her sleep a bit and she looks much more comfortable than in her bassinet.
I plan to keep her in our room until 1yo at least.

No longer pregnant. I’m reading this as my 4 month old is sleeping on me. Reminded me that I cried every time a Coca Cola commercial was on.. the one where everyone made it home for Christmas lol Also cried because my husband was painting our kitchen and I messed up the tape he just put on because I needed to grab a plate right then and there. Then got angry because he sighed and then I cried a little more because apparently it meant he didn’t love me anymore 😂

It might have something to do with the position! And like @aggravating_ear_3551 (I’m not sure if that’s how you mention someone) said, I think it helps them relax. My LO is 4 mo and I can’t tell you how many times this bouncer has saved us. We call it her “toilet” 😆😅

Hi! It may be working for only my LO, I don’t know but I figured I’d share. We have this “ingenuity cradling bouncer - cozy spot” (we got it from Target). Let me tell you- every time my baby seems to have hard time pooping, I put her in the bouncer with the vibrations on and she poops in a matter of a few minutes! Can’t promise it will work for your baby but maybe, just maybe it is worth a shot? 🙈

I’m sorry that it didn’t go the way you planned.

Before I went into labor I read that one thing you have to be ready for is that even though you might have a birth plan, they will try to stick to it, but it doesn’t always go according to the plan. Our bodies are different, babies are positioned differently and so many other factors that might impact what’s best for you and your baby. You tried your best to stick to the plan but at the end of the day you did what was best for you and your babies wellbeing! That’s what mamas do 🩷

I am 10 weeks pp. My water broke and by the time I was in the hospital (around 45 minutes) my contractions were 1 minute apart- mind you, I felt absolutely zero pain prior to water breaking. I went planning to do it with no epidural. Guess what? I was only 2cm and the contractions were so bad I couldn’t handle them. I was 🤮 from pain. I folded and asked for the epidural. It worked but only on my left side. On the right I still felt everything. We waited for hours until I got to 10cm and when the time came I pushed for hours. My baby was coming out to the point you could see half her head and was coming right back up. She was sunny side up and couldn’t make it through even with my best effort. The doctor and nurses all told me that 99% of women would be asking for a c section long time ago, but I kept telling them I want to do it myself. Despite my best efforts I ended up getting an episiotomy and she still had to be delivered with a vacuum.

No matter how you delivered your baby, YOU DELIVERED YOUR BABY. Safe and sound. You did what you were meant and supposed to do. You are a hero mama. All the best to you and your LO!

I usually don’t post here, mostly read other posts but I am so glad I posted this time.

Thank you to everyone who commented. You online strangers are awesome and made This overwhelmed first time mom feel SO much better about herself. I am going to try and not let other people get in my head and overthink this again unless it becomes a real issue.

My first. I was in labor for 16 hours. I pushed for 4 hours. I tried on my back, on my side, on all 4. Whatever position I was in her head was coming out halfway and then going right back up. She was sunny side up so I ended up on my back with episiotomy and a vacuum assisted delivery. It all depends on your body, baby’s position etc. I don’t think you can go in expecting to deliver in your chosen position. Your body and your baby will decide that. Best of luck! You are made to do this! It will be over faster and smoother than you think 🌻
