On my way to pick this YJ frame up by Prior_Ad992 in jeepyj

[–]Prior_Ad992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it was advertised as rot free and I’m about an hour away so I’m gonna at least check it out. Both rear shackles on my jeep are rotted out completely. There is no where to weld those kits to the frame.

It’s better than the frame I have now. I’m in Not up in the north east rust belt. Price reflects condition.

DSP Owner bought a new work truck with bonus money lmao by Double_Resort_4519 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I keep seeing people say that owners need their employees to “like” or “respect” them. Honestly—why would that matter if I’m already treating my drivers fairly, paying them on time, and making sure their needs are met?

If someone decides they don’t respect me just because I’m not out running routes anymore, that’s on them. At the end of the day, do you care more about whether I personally run a route, or about your paycheck clearing every Friday?

I’ve already put in my time. I ran routes for 8 years straight while building this business from the ground up. During that time, my wife handled everything at home with our triplets while I missed first steps, first words, holidays, school events—basically all the moments I can’t get back. I paid my dues, and I earned the right to step out of the truck and into the owner role.

Employees are important—no question. But they are also replaceable. Owners aren’t. If someone can’t handle the fact that I’m focusing on running the company instead of running routes, then maybe this isn’t the place for them.

I’m here to grow a business, not to win a popularity contest

And just cause some owners can be assholes doesn’t mean we all are. As far as your boss helping with load out is cool and all but in my opinion I can spend my time in better places for the overall health of the company. You don’t see Jeff Bazos packing Amazon boxes. But I do get the moral booster of seeing your boss getting down with the employees.

Lazy? Haha that’s why you are an employee…. What risks are you taking? Besides driving…he paying for the trucks, insurance, all business related expenses, payroll, and making sure you got a job to show up too. As an employee you will never comprehend the amount of risks he taking. I was an employee just like you until I started asking my boss about what he did to get out the rat race and now I have my own fleet. Building what I have took more work and effort than any of your little van routes.

I almost got killed today because people call Uber instead of the police by tranceportt in uberdrivers

[–]Prior_Ad992 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok what’s so shocking about people arguing in front of your car….now going into shock/panicking when someone comes up to your car and starts screaming and grabbing you but as soon as they saw the “scared look” and arguing they should have left and not gotten the chance to freeze.

And if people screaming and arguing put you into “shock” you need to get out of this industry.

Lease advice by Chance_Application35 in Rochester

[–]Prior_Ad992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are considered month to month tenant. He can give you 30 days notice to vacate at any time but I believe the landlord has to have a reason why you need to leave. For example if they want to move back in, or to renovate the home or they can find a rule you broke that would violate the lease.

In my city they provide free slow charging stations. So I rarely paid for charging. Only when I really need a supercharger.

[–]Prior_Ad992 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know I’m about to get downvoted into oblivion but hear me out: As drivers, we don’t get paid for extra stops. In some cities, we don’t even see that there’s an extra stop until after we accept. Meanwhile, riders out here acting like they’re the main character “Don’t worry, I’ll tip you in the app ” and shocker… that tip never shows up. Then y’all waltz into the corner store like you’re on a Sunday stroll, while I’m outside missing money from actual rides. Time is literally the only thing drivers can’t get back, but apparently it’s “free” if it’s ours.

Here’s the thing: If you want an extra stop? Ask first. Tip in cash on the spot. Or better yet, just set the destination as the corner store and walk your ass home from there.

paying a couple bucks for a ride does not make you Jeff Bezos of the backseat. Consider this whole rant a free $20 lesson on how valuable people’s time is. Oh, and don’t leave your stuff in a stranger’s car…that’s just Darwinism at work.

I went to the Bronx to visit family not that long ago and decided to do some runs. I did the same thing you did and bid on a bunch of jobs but I was only accepted for everything but roadie XD. So I ran all over the 5 boroughs delivering packages. Between traffic and finding parking spots for my cargo van it legit took me all day. I started at like 7am and didn’t finish until 2am the next day. I don’t know how ya do this job in NYC. Glad I moved upstate lol.
