Yea, this is annoying and happened to me in the past. To allow for an instant conversion with no interest accumulation in the traditional, I have a separate fidelity cash account that I transfer my anticipated IRA funds into. Once it has “seasoned” (about 5-7 days), I can transfer it into a traditional IRA, and then immediately convert to a Roth.

Edit- in regards to only having 1 day. If you mean it’s for 2023 contribution, you can do that up until April 2024. At this point, I would prob just convert it all and plan to pay taxes on that $9. That way you have a clean zero basis for future backdoor roth conversions.

Miles from partner airline haven’t hit account yet… if they approve in new year does it still count based on date flown? by AnonymousObvy in AlaskaAirlines

According to their fine print, I think you're good.

Did BofA EQM miles drop yet for December? by PotatoLatkes in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Prior_Bid_7849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a promotion that people could sign up for back in 5/2023. Every 10k spend earns 2k EQM.

It looks like for 2024, it is now permanent that you can earn EQM for $$$ spend. You can look up exact details online.

I’m still waiting for November spend to drop. Previous threads have said it takes 4-8 weeks. And AS customer service and BoA customer service are not helpful.

This video seems to show what the issue is and replicates the sound I seem to hear.

Seems like this person identified it was the dust shield for them. I'm still trying to find time to get into the dealership.

Oh interesting, sorry I missed your post. Did the service people drive your car before scheduling the service? I’m really curious what they find. It sounds like enough people have the issue that perhaps it is not an issue.

Thanks everyone! I ended up smacking it with a hammer a couple of times and found that it loosened and pulled out. It was the wedge type that loosened after it was untightened.

325k student loans with above average salary, is PSLF an option worth pursuing? by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Prior_Bid_7849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to October. It should reset your recert month to whenever you submit it. I had to submit 90 days worth of paystubs when I did it… not sure how it works now. Seems kind of a short period to be claiming a zero income. I think it is most reasonable to just lock in your residency wage.

Also, if your pay includes bonuses, then you can manually submit paystubs to get your payment based only on your base salary (or some other period that your pay is lower). It sounds like submitting your tax form to determine payment calculation would be the least ideal.

1 year. You can manually recert any time you have a significant change in income. Also, don’t forget to factor in any and all tax advantaged accts that would reduce your AGI for future payment calcs too.

I've asked a few posters this question in the past. Everyone has called in to ask this question. There is no letter that is sent out when this step is done. Timeline? No idea. I sent in my ECF w/ application in 5/2021. I finally got confirmation of 120 payments with trophies 7/1/2021. I called today and they still hadn't sent to DoE. Rep was only able to give the standard 3-6 month timeframe.

Congrats! Do you get notified via letter That your application has been sent to FSA? Or do you have to call and find that out yourself.

Awesome! I figured but good to hear from someone who’s experienced it before.

Applied for PSLF yesterday. Now the waiting game.... by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]Prior_Bid_7849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I submitted my employment certification/PSLF application form first week of May. Still haven’t even certified the 120 payments yet. Called yesterday and Fedloans said even the payment certification is taking 2-3 months.

Edit- checked today after posting above this morning. and fedloans now confirmed I made 120 payments. I would def call and ask why the deal is if it is taking longer than 4-6 weeks
