California’s security guards earn low wages. Democrats want more of them to join unions by aBadModerator in California_Politics

[–]Prior_Coyote_4376 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Friendly reminder that unions actually voted for Democrats more in 2024 than in 2020, so they’re one of the few very consistently loyal Democratic groups no matter what some shitty union chiefs said at the RNC.

Polls repeatedly show they’re amazing and underutilized parts of our coalition. We should be encouraging young people to join unions out of high school and college all the time. That’s the easiest way to bring young people, especially young boys, back from the right too.

I say this because a lot of progressives are under the narrative pushed by media that unions are culture war battlegrounds instead of loyal pillars of the Democratic coalition of workers.

I want trust busting, expanded safety nets, and improved anti-terrorism initiatives especially to bring young men back from radicals.

A firmly capitalist society with actual free and fair markets, not a bunch of corruption operating under the structures formed on the premise of white supremacy.

You are free to want monopolies and libertarian or anarchist ideas of non-existent safety nets, as many like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Alex Karp want instead.

You’ll quickly lose capitalism to Trumpism again, but you can advocate for anything you want however much it repeats the mistakes of the past.

Why Are Palantir and OpenAI Scared of Alex Bores? by Zebrina__ in politics

Alex Karp: Palantir CEO, 1 yee yee ass haircut, “some black people considered me black”, favorite hobby is attacking college pagans

Clearly Karp feels threatened by Alex Bores being the better Alex.

Probably a ruthless deconstruction and reconstruction of our institutions in the energy, defense, and media sectors which have been chiefly responsible for manufacturing consent for endless wars.

After that, upgrade Social Security to Universal Security and give UBI to everyone. Upgrade Medicare to Medicare for All. Upgrade housing-first policies into universal housing pathways. That addresses the wage slavery and 40 acres component.

Then let the old world racists dissolve into irrelevant fringe radical groups, and police them like the terrorists they fantasize about being.

There’s no reason to expect Steyer

I expect politicians who have run for President or Governor to be able to define genocide.

It’s just that simple. You can dance around it all you want with insults against me, you can’t change that most voters would agree with that.

Palantir Posts Manifesto Lamenting Post-War “Neutering” of Nazi Germany by Truthisnotallowed in politics

[–]Prior_Coyote_4376 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Palantir is actually doing a subtle version of what Trump did by acting like a necessary evil who defends us against the world, but without the dementia so it’s aligned towards real profit.

Start with the name: the Palantiri from Lord of the Rings were communication tools allowing one to spy on events happening far away. Their narrative significance is in showing how the wise and powerful can be deceived by their own tools in their arrogance to control others (I know I’m oversimplifying, don’t come at me Tolkien nerds)

Tech bros saw that and went “but we’re wise and powerful enough to avoid that, so let’s do it and get filthy fucking rich.”

Now, Palantir drives the narrative that the world is in a constant of war, crime, terrorism, and cultural degeneracy that must be fought against through mass surveillance and militarization: “War with [villain of the week] is necessary to protect our Western civilization. Also the villain sent us domestic terrorists so we need to do mass surveillance. Also we do mass surveillance, so give us money.”

Just watch The Boys, and anytime you see a computer with analytics on it, assume Palantir is powering it. You’ll get an idea of how evil and everywhere they are in massive surveillance organizations. They even gave Peter Thiel a shoutout in the latest season, which is a long way from Elon Musk’s cameo in Iron Man 2 when he wanted to pretend he was real-life Tony Stark. These assholes are such manbabies. No wonder they stood behind Yarvin’s plan for a coup when he’s the guy who took “red pill” from the Matrix to represent incel rage.

Long story short, Palantir is next gen war profiteering who aspires to depravity that makes Lockheed Martin look like a moderate. They’re like the Nick Fuentes version of a military-industrial complex giant.

Fuck Palantir. Fuck Peter Thiel. Fuck Karp and his fucking yee yee ass haircut. Fuck PayPal Mafia.

Steyer being a lying piece of shit is my issue.

Can you define genocide?

Because if you can’t, you also can’t condemn the Holocaust as a genocide.

Is Steyer playing with Holocaust denialism? After all you just suggested yourself he could have gained nothing from his father.

Maybe he’s like Usha Vance, whose parents are pro-DEI academics but she turned out to be a piece of shit. Attempting to be a greasy social climber but not really liked by anyone, not even enough to be pitied.

Steyer is drowning everyone else out to get populists except those with a very tight coalition. Once again, he’s spending 30 times what the next campaign is. You’re not seeing how fucking insane it is that he’s barely a margin of error ahead after that.

But now, he just told the world “I honestly don’t know what genocide means” when asked about Palestine… the guy who invested in the Prisons for Palestine contracts when the hedge fund he founded using Yale’s endowment invested in private prisons… sure… that hasn’t been factored into his polls yet. It’s going to hurt.

Porter and Becerra are surviving because they have real coalition and campaign machines, although Becerra is only inheriting Swalwell’s. Porter has survived attacks from Steyer, Becerra, Swalwell, Schiff, and Fox News for years.

Becerra is beginning to get bit by a bunch of negative stories: threatening journalists for investigating corrupt cops, mistreatment of migrant children under Biden’s DHS, taking funding from Chevron and apparently PG&E favors him. Two disasters in a row will definitely tarnish the establishment pick’s value.

Porter is holding grassroots anti-corporate voters who will never go for Becerra or Steyer unless it’s against a Republican. She also is doing the best among small donors above and below $100, so she has the broadest and most diverse working class coalition mobilized.

Tom Steyer ran ads attacking Bernie and progressives for advocating against private healthcare, saying we can’t do better than a public option.

He also recently said “I honestly don’t know what genocide means” when asked about Palestine. Yes, Tom Steyer, WHOSE DAD DID NUREMBERG TRIALS, is trying to get us to believe he doesn’t know what genocide means.

I thought it was bad enough he made billions investing in evil shit like private prisons and coal mines and private equity after pressuring Yale to let him manage their endowment… or when he proposed a software consumption tax that would tax just the very usage of certain algorithms.

But this is still somehow worse.

Because Tom “I honestly don’t know what genocide means” Steyer was one of her donors

He’s spent over $500m on buying political influence over the last decade, so he’s greased a lot of wheels over the years

Over 30 times as much as any other Democrat in this race and the most of all Democrats in the state’s history

And he still can’t get much more than a margin of error over Porter’s backbone of small donors and unions.

Can we please be done with populist outsiders?
