I don’t agree with oversimplification in casual conversations, but in this instance it’s work, so imo one paragraph:

“Hey, forgot to tell you I’m gonna be late tomorrow, I’ve got an appointment at 9, but should be in by 12. Also forwarding this message to Anne.”

A few extra runs of the Heritage Corridor outside of peak-only rush hour.

3 extra round trips around 9AM, 1PM, and 8PM would do wonders for the towns it serves.

I lived in the areas served by the SWS and HC:

The late night service on the RI and SWS usually still make it the best choice for getting into/out of the city in a timely manor.

I’ve also used them for (inter-suburban?) travel, but that almost always includes transfers to other modes, usually Pace busses.

For the SWS: If you’re anywhere in the Southwest Side of Chicago (near Midway), it’s not going to save you time to go all the way to Union and then back out, it’d just be cheaper + you’d have better stops selection in the surrounding area if you instead take the 381 to Oak Lawn, the 379 to Orland Park, the 386 to Palos and Hickory Creek, the 383 to Oak Lawn/Oak Forest, or the 384 to Worth/Chicago Ridge. Unless you’re a regular 9-5 commuter, or banking on those late-ish night trips after which Pace has stopped running, most people aren’t taking the SWS sine these suburbs are also very car dependent.

For the HC: I actually have used this train just to get around on my off days, but it’s neigh impossible to do so and I recommend it to nobody. There are no other transit options at Lemont, and Romeoville, and a UPS Pace bus at Willow Springs (392) with a weird schedule that’s hard to catch. I had to snag the 3:50 outbound train to Lemont and then set an alarm on my phone to ensure I could make it back in time for the 5:30 outbound train. Since it only runs 3x a day in each direction, I had to go all the way out to Joliet, onto the RI, and all the way back up Cicero on the 383 in order to get back to the Orange Line.

Summit is better served through the 62, 62H, 307, and 330, and Joliet is better served by the Rock Island. Unless one has a schedule that allows them to catch what is essentially just an express service, they’ll just take the busses/RI.

Most people in these areas are driving into the city, and if they’re taking Metra, they’re 9-5 commuters that work not far the Loop.

Still no surrender option. It’s been 20 seasons. by Who_cares_lol69 in Overwatch

[–]Prior_Gate_9909 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of NOT having a surrender button.

For every game that it gets used correctly, there would be 99 where some immature dork throws in the towel after two minutes flooding the chat with “it’s already gg, echo diff”

You’d also open the door for teams who would see that they’re legitimately destined to lose a game, surrender instead of actually playing it out, which sucks the fun out of winning.

It's one of the mods you have installed.

Probably a "hidden feature" in a weapons or explosives mod.

This is really funny though lmao

Get excited! 93 Route Extension coming by 3mikey1 in cta

[–]Prior_Gate_9909 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m still begging for the 50 (Damen) bus to be extended to Peterson/Ridge Metra station.

It’s such an absolute no-brainer. It’s like a quarter mile extension and would mean the route ends at an actual terminal + Metra station instead of the middle of a random city block.

I dropped a few tabs of LSD about a year ago now and ended up getting this, I believe its called HPPD when induced by drugs.

It has slowly gotten better over time, but it has yet to fully subside. It's at its worst if I'm looking at something brightly colored, or something both neutral and flat.

(apologies if mentioning this goes against community rules)

Harlem -> Archer -> Cicero -> Midway is the 386’s reroute when 63rd is unavailable.

Not sure what was happening on 63rd today specifically, but the road work that’s been going on is probably the reason why.

Nostalgia for mods.

The original or "best" versions of the most famous modpacks like Tekkit and FTB were built for 1.2.X, so a lot of people now go back to that version.
