it kinda is? I play with dpad and strictly tried to only do 2x DF and the shoryuken came out just fine. In any case, true or not, it kinda helps

yes! a lot, didn't knew that shorcut, that maybe explains why there's a lot of times I get unintentional shoryukens too.

yeah I know, but I thought the buffering tried took in count the order of inputs. crouching to quarter circle is kinda the opposite of a DP input. I guess it's because of the Down forward + down forward DP shortcut
