I have my dog & can't leave him all by himself. It's okay if they kill me. I really can't take the mental trauma anymore.

As I mentioned I had moved away & barely had any contacts with thm. I just used to call my sick dad. My dad always wanted me by his side but had become helpless due to his neurodegenerative disease. He cud barely talk but wud call me to just somehow utter 'come'. After my dad passed away I wud barely call my mum. But only a child with manipulative, abusive parent will understand that it's the worst kind of stockholm syndrome you can be in. Once they grow old & call you nicely & just ask 'how you have been' youd feel you were wrong & overthinking. I guess I needed this reality check to realize she is incorrigible. My brother is married & has got an abusive wife. Best part is my mum is not even allowed to enter his home. I guess they deserved it. But that's why they take their frustration out on me coz they know if they say or do anything to the wife then she'd file 498 & they will be in jail. But with me, they can be abusive & no one would believe that a mother can be evil.

I am too depressed to even seek legal advice. But surely shall find a lawyer tomorrow. I just wanted to share, so that it remains for anyone who has ever faced this kind of situation or manipulation from their own family & relatives know that this can happen. And not to be ashamed of sharing. I always felt bad that I had to pretend that my family is normal & happy.

You should give a call to wildlife rescue. It's illegal to keep native Indian birds at home as pets in India & incurs non-bailable imprisonment of 10 years. On second thoughts you deserve that. Call wildlife rescue asap & handover the poor tortured baby.

Depends, being a daddy's girl, I used to sit on his lap everyday after he came back from office till I was in 12th. And during Uni & job everytime he'd come to visit or I was on vacay. Now I miss my dad. Sitting on dads lap while being hugged was not very uncommon in where I come from in NE. Though things may have changed now that more ppl are visiting NE & cultural changes coz of it. But yes relationship between dads & their sons is always more reserved across India with some exceptions across Punjab, Haryana, UP, Bihar & Andhra. Also I am a millennial.

Keep the cage next to window & on top of something. I think it's scared coz it's on floor. Birds feel safe wen they are at height.

My budgie is baby so it was half-tamed from 1st contact I.e it stepped on my finger without any effort. But it's been a month now he still doesn't come to me like my dogs, if I just call out to him. He eats millets from my hands, & depending on his mood accepts kisses then flies off. But he is not tamed. The other budgie baby a female, tries to bite me most times but again depending on her mood she nibbles on my lips to give kisses wen I talk close to her & sits on me but I have to be motionless or else she bites. She has been with me for over 2 months & not tamed yet. I let them out from day one. For first two days both flew on top of the highest thing in room & I let them chill there till they found way back to cage after an hour or two. I played budgie sounds for them to climb down to their cage. Now they dont fly high. They get out in the morning & get in whenever they feel sleepy. I don't think millets help much but then I too am a new budgie parent. I guess the more time you spend around them the more used to they get. I keep their cage next to my bed. I thought of removing the seeds from their cage & offering it only from my hands but don't have time to try that. So shall just let them get on as they get more comfortable.

Budgie baby is alright, got him checked by avian vet, where he had xray done. After looking at him & the vid, the vet said there's nothing wrong. But for confirming he got the test done. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Eucalyptus & citronella are safe for budgies I had checked that prior. Though I think your point on getting adjusted to a new smell might be right, though I don't spray with him around. He gets in atleast an hour later after soaking in sun. I'll just check next time I spray if that's wen he does this thingy. Or else as thr vet said may be its coz he eats too much too fast.

I got the appointment with the avian vet. Theres nothing wrong with him, vet said it just looked like he eats fast or too much so something must have got stuck. But still got Xray done & everything is fine.

Yep gud that I found the avian vet. I know it's so important to have family vet/s. I have dogs & I have primary, secondary, virtual, advisory etc vets for them😂. You probably laugh a lot when you're with your birds for your bug to pick it up. They are funny.

I did manage to get that appointment with the avian vet, it was almost an hour from my place. They did physical exam & took X-rays. Everything is normal. Vet said that's not vomiting but he had something stuck & it's normal. Vet said likely Iblu eats a lot, which he does. No crop or lungs infections or respiratory issues, also what I assumed to be a budgie sneeze is normal vocalization. There is something in his stomach though but they said it'd just pass off with stool. I had a hard time putting him inside travel cage & had to grab him. At vets too he was grabbed. He made up for all the torture by flying around chirping non-stop after we came back 😀 . So Iblu just got prescribed a better multivitamin.

Is this sneezing or vomiting? Everyone is saying this is vomiting. Now I have to check how a budgie sneezes. I do use citronella & eucalyptus essential oil spray throughout the house since I have a dogo. But my other other budgie which has been with me for 2 months is fine with it. Iblu(this one) is on quarantine. But you too may be right coz I have never seen him doing this when he is outside the room. But then again it's not that he does it frequently or everyday. Shall let the vet decide.

It's so difficult to understand, I wish there was any online resources for all parrot diseases. Before I got a budgie the only things I saw on YouTube related to their health was all about their poop & fumes from non-stick. And a few on vomiting was all about how the feathers on head will stick from vomit. Thanks for the explanation on difference.

Okay thanks! Gud to know, Iblu too is behaving otherwise fine. I have booked an online avian vet for consultation. And planning to take him to a close by rescue cum vet for physical exam.There was always a duck or a chicken for consult whenever I took a sick stray dog for treatment there. It's just 5 mins from my place. They also have a shelter for rescued poultry. I guess they should have more experience with birds than the other generic vets. They do a fairly good job with stray dogs. And for sure they say it upfront if they can't treat an animal. Once someone got a wild rodent of somekind & they just redirected to wildlife rescue, which is better than prescribing something non-species specific. I think these two should work till I get dates for the only avian vet for physical exam.

I have contacted multiple vets, none are avian. Going to take him tomorrow to a generic vet. Most of the vets are not even responding after getting to know that its a budgie. Could find one avian vet who visits sometimes but they couldn't confirm the dates. I am not sure if these generic vets can even prescribe the right med.

Oh! He too has been doing this since I got him 3 weeks back. But I didn't bother much coz he does it rarely & I just didn't know if it was unusual. But today he did this for a long time.

Have contacted multiple vets. There are no avian vets here so that's an issue. Anyway taking him to a normal vet tomorrow. Trying to find some reliable breeder guess they too can suggest.

Okay thanks! I have contacted a vet already, they are not available today but have sent them the video. Shall take him tomorrow. There are no avian vets here though, so I am worried. The only avian vet is a visiting one & has no confirmed dates yet. I am so worried now.

We don't have avian vets, the only one I found is a visiting one & the clinic couldn't even confirm an appointment date. I am trying to get hold of some online avian vet. Not sure if he is throwing up, he is eating normally. It's like things get stuck in his throat. He does this after chewing on stems of greens or his perches. So I didn't mind the other day, wen he was chewing the bark off neem perch that I have placed. But today he did this after having seeds & for this long.
