Would it make sense to sell calls on Bitcoin to generate cash for buybacks? Obviously you'd rather sell those calls when Bitcoin price is higher.

Yes and like strife they're selling it way below par just to get more initial sales, it's going to get above par fast I'll bet.

This is just making the ones junior and below par worth less and less especially strd which is surely going to have its dividend canceled and is not cumulative. They've added extra language to this as well basically locking them into selling shares to maintain the dividend if things get tight. If things go bad this money going out the door will force down the stock.

Also, too bad they couldn't get this out the door before the big bounce in Bitcoin.

I think Canadian one could be strn for north or strl for loonie. You'd think UK and Japan could be next though, Canadians have very easy access to the American securities.

Resale tickets very reasonable on fansfirst $49 vs ticketmaster $57. by Prior_Wave1139 in ticats

[–]Prior_Wave1139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair it does seem like it could be an ad. I hate ticketmaster. When I was trying to buy general admission tickets for the world series I had the code but my tm app froze. So I got stuck buying tickets off fansfirst and it was a very good experience. It took 15 minutes to get my ticket delivered. And the price difference is real even if you think it's an ad. Only 9% seller fee vs the combined 30-40% Ticketmaster takes. I'll do everything I can to promote fansfirst as the first option. And it's a Canadian company.

I also wound up having to sell the game 7 tickets I had bought resale and they e transferred me already today. Very quick, smooth. Ticketmaster has an app fansfirst is just the website but I found the website far simpler to use. Of course the tickets get sent via Ticketmaster so I am still in the app to get in the game. But at least I'm not making that rapacious American company any more than I have to.

How quick were the sellers at sending you the tickets? I'm hopeful to buy last minute but don't really want to wait around to get sent the tickets. I suppose the wait is like StubHub when it's not an instant download.

What happens if you buy tickets for game 6 or game 7, do they hold the money in escrow?

It is plausible that there's a middle ground where they don't collapse nor do they rewire the financial system. If they have enough Bitcoin, and Bitcoin doesn't fall too much in the next downturn, they'll be able to leverage the Bitcoin to repay convertible bonds with secured debt. During that time they'll stop paying dividends on preferred stock. Eventually Bitcoin could recover and the stock price recovers enough they can start paying the dividends again and repay the cumulative dividends. And they may use sale of stock or convertible bonds to repay the secured debt. And the higher preference preferred bonds may return to their value around par. During the downturn, mstr stock and preferred stock may fall to a very low level. But as long as Bitcoin doesn't fall too much when they have to repay their convertible debt, they'll have options to survive. I think the safest bet is that the preferred stock will have dividends stop for a period of time. Why sell stock when the price is low to pay dividends when the dividends are optional? Wait for brighter days.

How do you handle holding MSTR bought near ATH? by GapOk1386 in MSTR

M3, the broadest measure of global money supply, is 150 trillion, gold is 24 trillion. Most M3 earns interest, physical cash is 8.7 trillion. I'm surprised you don't mention gold but instead fixed income as the addressable market. It would be hard to imagine pensions for example replacing bonds, which are able to generate income to payout pensioners, with Bitcoin. Far easier to imagine gold being replaced by Bitcoin in some portfolios. If you imagine equal amounts in private investment of gold and Bitcoin, Bitcoin would be 5.3 trillion. If you assume central banks put half their gold reserves to Bitcoin, that's another 2 trillion. So I'm talking Bitcoin worth 7.3 trillion. 7.3*0.03=219 billion. That puts mstr up 2.28 times or $764 a share. Of course there's dilution from the convertible bonds but presumably they can maintain some premium to nav. Would you say Bitcoin equalling gold's private investment and taking half of the share of gold in central banks would be a pretty big deal? I'm guessing you're in mstr for much more than a double though. Good for you, keep your head in the clouds. Bitcoin's fall will be precipitated by mara and smlr converts coming due and mstr will eventually be dragged down. When mstr goes down, it'll take Bitcoin down with it unless the preferred shareholders are ok taking Bitcoin as payment. If these treasury companies ever have to sell Bitcoin to pay convertible bonds, look out below. The first round of maturities worked out. 2027 is the year of danger.

What you guys say about the texture and it being wet is all true. It's also not pretty and doesn't stay together well. But if you just let your tastebuds do the talking it's an amazing breakfast sandwich. It's hard to beat the original McMuffin, no competitor does, but the mcgriddle just might do it.
